Notice to Players/Hole Locations - Day One

 

Scorecard

 

Registration Fee: $180 per player (includes range fees/lunches/prizes)

 

Format: The event will begin with an 18-hole individual stroke play round with the top 16 players advancing to match play.

 

Eligibility: Open to any male amateur golfer who is a member of a Member Club or an Individual Member of the Pennsylvania Golf Association with a handicap index of 7.4 or lower.  If the positions are not filled by players whom have accumulated points in the year prior, then the entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Anyone who registers, but does not gain entry, will be given a full refund.

 

Field: The field will be limited to 72 players and consist of the top 66 players on the previous year’s William C. Fownes, Jr., Amateur Player of the Year standings, champions of the event from the past five years, and the current club champion of the host site.  In the unlikely event of full subscription of all guaranteed spots, those tied for the last position on the POY standings will be accepted based on time of entry. 

 

Cart/Caddie: Carts are permitted.  A $35 Cart fee is due each day to the club.  Players may also choose to walk.  Players may be required to wear a mask while riding together.  Caddies are NOT permitted.

 

Spectators: Spectators will NOT be permitted; except that any player who requires assistance in transportation to the tournament site or who requires assistance in driving a golf cart during the competition is permitted to authorize one and not more than one person to spectate at the event or, if applicable, but only if such person is a member of the player’s immediate family and living in the same household as the player, to operate the player’s golf cart during the competition; provided that in all such circumstancessuch person may not provide any assistance to the player, may not indicate the line of play, may not handle the player’s clubs or equipment, and may not otherwise provide any services normally provided by a caddie.

 

Food & Beverage: Lunch will be provided each day of competition from approximately 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is included in the entry fee.

Practice Rounds: Will NOT be available.

 

Pairings: Players who have been accepted as participants in Pennsylvania Golf Association championships will receive event information concerning course assignment, practice rounds, pairings, and starting times approximately 10 days prior to the event.

 

Start Times: The PAGA staff, following as closely as practical the preferences indicated on the entry form will determine pairings and tee times.

 

Ties: In the event of a tie for the final qualifying position for match play, there will be a sudden death playoff to determine the final positions.

 

In the event of a match standing all square after 18-holes, the stipulated round shall be deemed to extend on a hole-by-hole basis beginning on the first hole.

 

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the Medalist, and players who reach the Quarterfinals and beyond.

Prizes will also be awarded to the team (team members must be from the same club) that posts the best 2 scores of 3 for the stroke play portion of the event.
