COVID-19 Tournament Procedures

 

Notice to players and hole locations day 1

 

Championship Event Overview

 

Registration Fee: $180 per player (includes range fees/lunches/prizes)

 

Entry Deadline:  August 5

 

Format: 36-holes of stroke play.  First round, 18-holes. Players will be re-paired according to first-round results. Second round, 18-holes.

 

Eligibility: Open to any male amateur who are members of a PAGA Member Club or an Individual Member of the PAGA who have reached their 25th birthday by Sept. 16 and who have a handicap index of 7.4 or lower. Individual Members must be residents of the state of Pennsylvania.

  

Field: Field is limited to approximately 110 entries. The field will consist of exempt and at large players. Each entrant, not exempt, shall compete in a sectional qualifying event to determine the 110-player field.  At closing it will be determined how many spots are available for qualifying once exempt players have been identified.

 

Cart/Caddie: Automotive transportation is permitted. Players may take a cart, walk and carry, bring your own caddie or hire a club caddie.  Club caddies will be available at $80 per bag inclusive of gratuity  - contact Adam Novack, Caddie Master at 215-659-1584 or anovack@hvccpa.org.  The cart fee will be $35 per day payable directly to the club.

 

Food & Beverage: Lunch will be provided each day of competition from approximately 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is included in the entry fee. Additional F&B purchases at the halfway and 19th hole.  Cash is the only payment option.

Practice Rounds: Practice rounds are available after 12 p.m. on Sept. 8 and Sept. 14.  Players must call (215) 659-1584 to reserve a time one week in advance, reduced Greens Fee of $70 plus cart or club caddie, all fees with be reciprocal club charge or cash (no credit cards) if you do not have a reciprocal club.

 

Spectators:  Are permitted at the Championship.

 

Locker Rooms: Will be available for players.  Please do not use the parking areas to change clothing or shoes.

 

Cell Phones: Mobile devices and cell phones are only permitted to be used in your vehicle and the locker rooms.

 

Club Attire: Members and guests should always wear proper attire when using the golf course and practice facilities. Collared shirts are required for men and must be tucked in at all times. Women may wear shirts and tops out if it fits the style of their outfit. Golf Hats should be worn in the traditional manner (bill forward) and never inside. Cargo pants or shorts are never permitted. Shorts and Skorts must be Bermuda length. Women’s tank tops, tennis length skirts, tight fitting apparel, athletic warm-up suits and denim of any kind or color are not permitted.

 

Pairings: Will be in threesomes.  First round results will determine second round pairings.

 

Start Times: The PAGA staff, following as closely as practical the preferences indicated on the entry form will determine pairings and tee times.

 

Ties: In the event of a tie for the Middle-Amateur Championship there will be a sudden-death playoff immediately following the conclusion of play.  All other ties will be broken by matching scorecards in accordance with USGA guidelines.

 

In the event of a tie for the final qualifying positions in a Middle-Amateur qualifier, the number of qualifying positions plus ties will gain entrance into the Championship Proper.

 

Prizes: The player returning the lowest 36-hole score will be awarded the title of Middle-Amateur Champion and his name engraved on the Max Banzhaf Trophy.  Prizes will be awarded to top 10 places.

 

Prizes will also be awarded to the team (team members must be from the same club) that posts the best 2 scores of 3 for the two rounds of the event.
