    place winners.
  • Closest to Pins each day (8 total, no BC Cup Points)
  • Scorecard ties will be broken beginning with hardest hole and continue until tie is broken.
  • Our goal is to payout 75% of the field so your chances are good to get some, if not all or more, of your registration fee back!  So join in the fun and make some BC bucks!

Format/Rules:

BCWGA 18 Hole Members will form their own 2 person teams to compete in this event.  Target number of participants is 48 players.

NOTE:  Registration is initially capped at 20 teams.  After 20 teams, a waitlist will begin with the goal of getting 24 teams.

  • Rules of golf will follow traditional USGA Match Play Format.
  • Each two-person team’s combined 9-hole handicap will determine which flight they are in.  The low handicap player in the foursome will play at scratch and give strokes of the difference in handicap to the other players.
  • Each flight will have 4 teams and each team will play the other teams in their flight. For the first match, each team will play vs. par.
  • Scoring for the matches in each flight will be as follows:
    • +1 Point for winning a hole
    • ½ Point for halving a hole
    • 9 Points total for each nine-hole match
  • The team that wins the most points over their 4 matches will be the flight winner and will be in the Shoot-Out.  Flight winner ties will be broken as follows:
    • 1st Tie Breaker-Whichever team won during their head to head match.
    • 2nd Tie Breaker-Most Points vs. 3rd place team
    • 3rd Tie Breaker-Most Points vs. 4th place team
  • Shoot-Out

    • All flight winners will enter the Shoot-Out.
    • Shoot-Out will be played on Creek course, starting on hole 6.
    • Format is Alternate Shot
    • Handicap in the Shoot-Out is 75% of the average 9-hole team handicap to determine strokes per hole for each team.
    • Teams choose which player will hit the first drive and shots are alternated through the end of the hole.  On the next hole, the other team member must tee off and so on.
    • One team is eliminated on each hole.  Ties will be broken by chip off using the usual rules…can’t use putters, turn backs, winning ball must be on green.
  • Additional Betting:

    • To encourage participants to stay for the Shoot-Out, we will be taking $10 bets to allow people to bet on which flight they think will win the Shoot-Out.  We will also have a bar set up with basic drinks
    • People can bet on as many flights as they want.
    • All money in the betting pot will be split between all players who bet on the winning flight.
  • Closest to the Pins:

    • Each tournament day will include 4 closest to the pins.  2 holes will be for lower handicap players and 2 holes will be for the higher handicap players.  (Exact Split will be based on dividing the entire field in half and use the resulting course handicaps numbers as the split.)
    • Monday:  Creek 3 and Choctaw 2 are for Low Handicappers, Creek 8 and Choctaw 9 are for the higher handicappers.
    • Wednesday:  Creek 3 and Cherokee 6 are for Low Handicappers, and Creek 8 and Cherokee 4 are for the High Handicappers.
  • Note:  Registration is either limited to 20 teams or 24 teams to make an even number of teams in each flight

Handicaps:

Players will receive their full course handicap (maximum course handicap is 36).

Late Withdrawals:

Due to early commitments to Food and Beverage and to the Pro Shop for payouts, cancellations must be received by 5:00 pm on the Friday following the Registration close date.  After that date, the individual is subject to payment of the full amount of the tournament charge.
