GOLF TOURNAMENTS

DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Woodside is excited to announce that we have developed a plan for hosting golf events during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  We have and continue to consult with Alberta Health Services and as a result we are confident that our apporach meets all of the terms outlined under the current public health order.  We would not be proceeding with such an endeavour if we were not confident that we could do so in a manner that provides a safe environement for you, your guests and our staff.  With that said, a lot has changed in our world as a result there are a number of new requirements and restrictions that will dramatically impact the traditional golf tournament experience.

WHAT DOES A TOURNAMENT LOOK LIKE WITH THESE RESTRICTIONS?

EVENT SIZE

Events larger than 50 people will not be permitted to host a banquet before or after their event due to the current health order relating to indoor gathering sizes. These events will be provided with a box lunch or breakfast and will have an option to add [2] on-course food holes during their event. Following the completion of golf, the event will be over and guests will be required to leave.

Events smaller than 50 people will be allowed to host a banquet, but must adhere to the guidelines and protocols assigned to restaurants at this time. At present our dining room is configured to facilitate physical distancing between dining parties and hosts tables of 4. The maximum allowable table size defined by the public health order is currently set at 6 people.

 RECOMMENDATIONS

POWER CARTS - The province has lifted the single rider protocols for power carts making it possible for us to facilitate larger groups. In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 and maintain a safe environment for everyone, we would recommend that events only accept registrations of [2-somes] or [4-somes] who are comfortable riding together due to the fact that physical distancing is not possible.

Woodside will have disposable masks for sale at a cost of $3 for anyone who wishes to purchase one. Masks are recommended whenever physical distancing is not possible.

PRESENTATIONS - Woodside has invested in public address equipment that can be utilized outdoors and will be made available to events that wish to make short presentations to their guests. These presentations must be conducted in the practice area to allow enough space for everyone to physical distance.

SPONSORS - Events will be able to host sponsors on-course, provided they are able to meet all of the protocols outlined under the current public health order. Masks will be a requirement where physical distancing cannot be maintained. All Food & Beverage must be purchased and approved by Woodside Golf Course Management 10 days in advance of an event.

PRIZING - As larger groups must disperse and leave the property after golf, we recommend that the organizer provide a pick-up location for all prizes that are to be awarded and send a list of winners out to all participants.

CONTACT INFORMATION - It is currently a recommendation that the name and phone number of all players be collected and held in the event of a positive COVID-19 case. This will assist AHS in tracking community spread should someone who is asymptomatic attend

AUCTIONS & FUNDRAISING - Woodside has partnered with a local auction house that has the ability to provide live auctioneers or online biding services for events looking to raise some extra money for any causes that they may be supporting. Ask us for more details.
