2020 Maridoe Amateur Championship

Albert D. Huddleston, Founder & Managing Member of Maridoe Golf Club announced today the establishment of the Maridoe Amateur Championship which will be an annual championship. This championship was to have its inaugural tournament in May of 2021 however, in light of the recent decisions to cancel most of the elite amateur tournaments for the foreseeable future, due to the pandemic, we have decided to move the inaugural championship to the week after Thanksgiving, 2020. The dates for the Maridoe Amateur Championship will begin on Monday, November 30, 2020 and conclude with a championship match on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Maridoe Golf Club located in Carrollton, Texas.

Maridoe Golf Club members and staff relish the opportunity to support the great game of golf and particularly during these uncertain times be a catalyst to show that golf can be played with safety and the required protocols. The Maridoe Amateur Championship will be a throwback to a time when outstanding talent and character collide in a great contest much as we witnessed in the U.S. Amateur a few days ago.

The tournament will consist of a practice round followed by three 18-hole rounds which will determine the 64 players participating in match play. There will be 104 invitees to the Maridoe Amateur Championship. On Sunday, December 6, 2020, Maridoe Golf Club will crown for the first time ever the Champion in a 36-hole match.
