NOTICE TO PLAYERS

The Rules of the United States Golf Association govern play, except as modified by the following local rules.

SCORCARD – The Martindale scorecard is unofficial and has no status.

MEN PLAY the BLUE tee markers, WOMEN PLAY the WHITE tee markers.

PREFERRED LIES  –  ONE SCORECARD LENGTH  - OWN FAIRWAY

WATER AND LATERAL HAZARD – – Lines, when present, are used to define margins. Stakes and the natural boundaries will define hazards when lines are not present. When a lateral water hazard is defined on only one side, it is deemed to extend to infinity. There are no drop zones.

OUT OF BOUNDS – Defined by inside points, at ground level, of white stakes: 1, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11.

A ball which crosses a public road defined as out of bounds and comes to rest beyond that road is out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course.

GROUND UNDER REPAIR - White encircled areas; French drains. GUR may include areas of unusual damage including, but not limited to, wheel ruts, animal diggings and eroded areas in bunkers when so declared by an authorized member of the committee. All flower beds are considered ground under repair from which play is prohibited and the player must take relief under Rule 25-1. Relief for lie of ball only in sod seams of cut turf and aeration holes: Local Rules as prescribed in Appendix 1; Part B are in effect.

STONES IN BUNKERS Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies)

EMBEDDED BALL THROUGH THE GREEN - Local rule as described in Appendix I is in effect.

DISTANCE-MEASURING DEVICES – A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.  A device that gauges or measures other conditions (wind or gradient, etc.) is not permitted, and would be subject to disqualification under Rule 14-3.

DISCONTINUANCE OF PLAY – Note to 6-8 is in effect: In potentially dangerous situations play must be discontinued immediately following a suspension of play by the Committee. Play will be stopped by one long continuous blast from the air horn. RESUMPTION OF PLAY: Two short air horn notes, repeated.

CELL PHONES – Use of cell phones during the competition is prohibited and could lead to disqualification.
