                                                        Additional Local Rules

Placing

  • There is placing on all closely mown areas within one club length. The ball must be marked, may be cleaned, and replaced only once within the one club length.
  • There are no rakes on the course for the purpose of smoothing out bunker footprints and club divots. The Golf RSA COVID-19 rules mitigation offering will be applied and placing in all bunkers will be permitted within 0,5m from the original ball position.

Tees     All Professionals must play off the Dark Green tees, male & female amateurs play from their tee of choice (Please inform the starter which tee you will be playing from)

Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)

  • Out of bounds is defined by areas in between white stakes and white lines

Penalty Areas (Rule 17) 

  • Red penalty areas, defined by red stakes and red lines
  • Yellow penalty areas are defined by yellow stakes, where no markings are found or yellow lines. Stakes: When defined by stakes, the edge of the penalty area is defined by the line between the outside points of the stakes at ground level, and the stakes are inside the penalty area.
  • Some alternate dropping zones have been marked as options of relief, provided these areas are not closer to the hole from where the ball last entered the penalty area.

Abnormal Course Conditions (including Immovable Obstructions) (Rule 16)

  • Ground under repair is defined by any area encircled by a white painted line. 
  • The young trees identified by a stake. If a player’s ball lies anywhere on the course other than in a penalty area and it lies on or touches such a tree or such a tree interferes with the player’s stance or area of intended swing, the player must take relief under Rule 16.1(f).
  • If the ball lies in a penalty area, and interference to the player’s stance or area of intended swing exists from such a tree, the player must take relief either with the penalty under Rule 17.1(e)
  • Where an abnormal ground condition is claimed by the player, a ruling must be sought from a ‘rules official’. Play two balls and report the incident to the Tournament Director (TD)

Integral Objects

  • Retaining artificial walls, bridges and pilings when located in penalty areas are integral objects unless indicated as GUR or defined in white paint.
  • Chipped bark trimmings spread under some trees are integral parts of the course and no relief is offered. If in any doubt to a procedure, please play two balls and report this to the Tournament Director before handing in your completed score card.

Score Card Recording

  • The professionals may score their own score card.
  • One of the amateurs must do the score capturing on the Golf Genius App, for the ‘Team Card’ that includes the professional’s score on each hole. This person should verify the both the professionals score and the team score on a hole by hole basis.
  • The score cards may be deposited in a box at the Senior Tour score recorders table after the game or by WhatsApp to 0832270840.

Covid-19 

  • Please adhere to the given Covid-19 rules for play obtainable from the TD.
