ENTRY ELIGIBILITY, PROCEDURE & INFORMATION

All tournament applicants must be a member of a Trans-Mississippi Member Club or make an annual contribution ($100) to the Trans-Mississippi Golf Association.  Entries will be accepted in the order they are received at the discretion of the Trans-Mississippi Senior & Mid-Master Championship Committee.  Entries are open to male amateur golfers that meet the following requirements:

 

Mid-Master Division:  Players who have reached their 40th birthday on or before the first round of competition (May 18th, 2021).  Applicants must have a USGA handicap index of 2.0 or less at the time of entry.

 

Senior Division:  Players who have reached their 55th birthday on or before the first round of competition.  Applicants must have a USGA handicap index of 4.0 or less.

 

Super Senior Division:  Players who have reached their 65th birthday on or before the first round of competition.  Applicants must have a USGA handicap index of 10.0 or less.

 

Legends Division:  Players who have reached their 70th birthday on or before the first round of competition.  Applicants must have a USGA handicap index of 12.0 or less. 

 

EXEMPTIONS

All exempt players who meet the criteria outlined below are required to register before Wednesday, March 24th at 5:00 PM Central to ensure a spot in the field.

 

  1. Past Champions in each division for the previous five Trans-Mississippi Senior Championships;
  2. Top fifteen finishers (and ties) in the previous year’s Senior Division;
  3. Top ten finishers (and ties) in the previous year’s Super Senior Division;
  4. Top six finishers (and ties) in the previous year's Legends Division;
  5. Top six finishers (and ties) in the previous year's Mid-Master Division;
  6. Past Champions in the previous five U.S. Senior Amateur Championships;
  7. Competitors making the final field of the previous year’s U.S. Senior Open;
  8. Competitors making the final field in the previous year’s U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship;
  9. Trans-Mississippi Golf Association/Host Club Selections.

 

FORMAT, FIELD SIZE & DIVISIONS

The Championship will be contested over 54 holes of Individual Stroke Play with four divisions; Mid-Master, Senior, Super Senior and Legends.  Each division will play from separate tees and yardages and separate Champions will be recognized.

 

Note:  If a particular division is not full by Wednesday, March 24th and there is a wait list in another division, spots in the field may be filled by those players on the wait list. 

 

Field Cut:  Provided that the starting field size exceeds 90 competitors, at the conclusion of 36 holes the field will be cut to the low 78 players and ties, with a pro-rated representation from each division.  The pro-rated allocation of players making the cut from each division will be reflective of the number of players in each division, relative to the total field size.  The determination of total field size, number of players in each division and pro-rated representation of players making the cut (before ties) will be announced in conjunction with pairings posted.

 

ON-SITE CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION

All competitors must register with Trans-Mississippi Golf Association staff prior to the start of the Championship.  Players that do not register may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION.  Official tournament registration will be held at The Meadow Club on Monday, May 17th from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.  Competitors who are unable to register on the date and time listed above must contact Trans-Mississippi Golf Association staff in advance of the Championship.

 

OFFICIAL PRACTICE ROUND

Players are limited to one complementary practice round on the designated practice round date.  All confirmed competitors should contact the Golf Shop beginning Tuesday, May 4th at (415) 456-9393 to schedule a practice round for Monday, May 17th.  Please be advised that the golf course will close at 6:00 PM for maintenance and the Player Reception on Monday evening.

 

PLAYER RECEPTION

A rolling player lunch/reception will be held on Monday, May 17th at the host club.  The reception will be hosted by the TMGA and will include lunch for the early practice round finishers and hors d'oeuvres for the players finishing their practice rounds later in the day.  Each player will receive two drink tickets to be used at the club for beer, wine or cocktails.  Lunch service will be available for the players finishing from 1:00 - 3:30 pm, then heavy hors d'oeuvres until 6:00 pm.  All reception costs, including hors d’oeuvres and beverages are included in the entry fee.  Dress code for the reception is, at minimum, golf attire (shorts are permitted).

 

STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS       

Starting times and pairings for the first and second rounds will be made available no later than Thursday, May 13th at 5:00 PM.  Copies will also be distributed at registration, in the Trans-Mississippi Tournament Office and in the Golf Shop.  Final round starting times and pairings will be available in the evening preceding play online at www.trans-miss.org, in the Trans-Mississippi Tournament Office and the Golf Shop.  Final round starting times will be re-drawn based on total score following the second round of play after the field is cut.

TRANSPORTATION & CADDIES

Players may walk or ride at their own discretion.  Caddies are permitted but are not guaranteed a cart seat.  Cart fees for the tournament are included in the entry fee.  Carts are limited to two riders at a time, and a maximum of two carts per group.  Please note that once players have signed and attested their scorecards with TMGA staff, they are asked to promptly return their cart to the staging area to assist The Meadow Club in cart management.

 

CLUBHOUSE FACILITIES

Clubhouse Facilities at The Meadow Club will be open daily at 7:00 AM.  Player’s will be responsible for breakfast purchased on the practice round day.  Breakfast and lunch are provided for all three days of the Championship and are included with each competitor’s entry fee for the Championship.  Guests may dine with players but will be charged the appropriate cost for the same meal.  Acceptable forms of payment in the clubhouse will be distributed to players in advance of the Championship.  All other food and beverage consumed will be at the competitor’s expense.

 

PRACTICE FACILITIES

Practice Facilities at The Meadow Club will be available to all competitors for the duration of the Championship.  The practice facilities will open Monday, May 17th at 7:00 AM and throughout each Championship round, beginning one hour prior to the first starting time.  The practice range will close at dusk for maintenance each tournament round and at 6:00 PM on Monday for the Player's Reception.

  

CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION

The Trans-Mississippi Golf Association's Code of Conduct and Dress Code are in effect throughout the Championship. Violations will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct.  All competitors should be familiar with all Trans-Mississippi Golf Association's Conditions of Competitions and Policies.  If you have any questions, please click here for additional information or consult with Trans-Mississippi Tournament Officials.  The Championship will be conducted under the 2021 USGA Rules of Golf. 

 

WITHDRAWAL & NO SHOW POLICY          

If you find you cannot compete in the Championship, you must officially withdraw from the event by contacting Trans-Mississippi staff Amanda Kolb at (469) 458-0806 or email at akolb@trans-miss.org.  If you do not officially withdraw, you may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION from future Trans-Mississippi Golf Association Championships.  Any player withdrawing prior to Wednesday, May 5th at 5:00 PM Central will receive a full refund, less a $25 administrative fee.  Any withdrawals after the May 5th deadline will not be entitled to receive a refund, unless a spot is filled by an alternate player on the wait list in the same division.
