May 4 Announcements - WE'RE SO HAPPY TO BE BACK!

Here is a summary of the announcements:

  • Introduction of captains

  • Teams aren’t made up yet because Scott needs to collect a bit of data first (a few of our scores).  They should be ready by next week.

  • “Nametags” survey going out - please don’t order one if you have one, they’re quite expensive.

  • Meals weekly - look online and you’ll see the meals for the upcoming season.  For the newbies, dinner is in the Large Multipurpose Room (aka pickleball court)(main floor) accessed from the veranda or front or back door.  Next week:  Italian dinner night

  • Game winners:  closest to the pin #3 Darlene Noble, #8 Trudy Mulligan

  • Longest drive winner:  Laura Leis

  • The above prizes ($10 each) will go into “Credit Book” on Chronogolf - an account is in the process of being set up for everyone.  Gift cards will no longer be issued.

  • When teams are made up, we’ll notify everyone.  You’ll get a ribbon for your bag so others can identify you as a teammate.

  • Tee-times.  More women have signed up for 18 holes than 9 holes.  We don’t have quite enough tee times since the course needs to be cleared for the shotgun at 4:45.  Right now, the first 48 can play 18 holes.  The waitlisted ladies will be moved to the 9-hole shotgun.  IF you need to cancel, please do so as early as possible so someone from the waitlist can be moved back to the 18-hole group.

  • Tee times: we’re trying to coordinate so players finish close to each other so the meal is eaten together.  It worked very well on opening night.

  • Scott has installed a TV in the pro shop which he sets to Ladies League info on Wednesdays.

  • If you cancel, please call in.  Remind staff to take your name off the dinner list if you can’t make it.  You are still invited for dinner if you don’t golf.

  • Pace of Play:  if you notice that you are falling behind, try this strategy.  The first 2 players who putt out move on to the next hole quickly while the other 2 finish their putts.  If you do this a couple of times you’ll find that you’re back on track.

  • Hole #1:  THE WATER!  If you’d like to use the friendly tee for LL, please do so.  You can hit over there and that will be your first shot.  However, if you enter your scores in Golf Canada, you must try to hit over the water.  If you aren’t successful, the drop zones are in effect for LL.  Go to the drop zone and you will be hitting 3 from there.

  • 50/50 weekly:  this week’s winner of $100 went to Nancy Hopkins.  Congratulations

  • Scott McInroy, our head pro and Director of Golf, did a draw for the Registration Raffle.  Everyone that registered was in the draw.

  • $200 VIP private shopping experience in the pro shop - Margaret Dennison

  • $400 VIP private shopping experience in the pro shop - Karine King

  • Titleist Driver with personal fitting - Alice Blinn

We’re all sooooo jealous!

Welcome to Ladies League 2022!

League play will begin on May 4th.  By now you should have received a registration email for both the 9 hole and 18 hole groups.  Please choose one and register before Sunday at 3 PM.  We hope you can make it out every week!

This year we did a zoom recording which contained a lot of information on our league.  You would have received this in your “welcome to our league” email.  We introduced our 6 captains, Scott gave the tech tutorials plus we shared other tidbits of info.  If you have any other questions we’ll be happy to answer them on Wednesday or I can answer them in the blog.  Send your questions to:  eQLadiesLeague@gmail.com

We will be having weekly features for our meals.  I will be updating this blog shortly to let you know what the menu will be for the upcoming week.  Just waiting for confirmation from our new F&B Manager, Tom.

Please come in and meet your team captain, collect a ribbon which we encourage you to attach to your golf bag so others will know which team you are on, and have a drink and/or dinner.  Remember to bring your toonie or $5 for 50/50 tickets.  We'll also ask you if you need a name tag or if you already have one.
