2021 BC Girls and Boys Championship

 

NOTICE TO PLAYERS

 

Play is governed by the 2019 Golf Canada Rules of Golf, the 2019 Official Guide and Clarifications on the Rules of Golf, British Columbia Golf’s Standard Local Rules and by the following Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, subject to any changes announced ahead of the competition or on the 1st tee.  Unless otherwise noted, penalty for breach of a Local Rule is:  stroke Play – two strokes.  Note that Local Rules on club scorecard or posted in the clubhouse do not apply.

  1. TEE MARKERS: Girls must play from the White British Columbia Golf tee markers and Boys from the Blue British Columbia tee markers.
  2. PHYSCIAL DISTANCING:  You must observe physical distancing at all times.  Penalty for breach of this rule:

   First offence – Warning      Second Offence – Two stroke penalty         Third Offence - Disqualification

  1. OUT OF BOUNDS:  Out of Bounds is defined by property fences and white stakes.  Driving Range left of hole #10 marked by white stakes. Edge of path behind #18 green towards the Driving Range and practice green. Hole #2 Behind Green – Roadway Parking lot..
  2. DESIGNATED PRACTICE AREAS:  Driving Range, practice greens, and chipping green.  Driving range is out of bounds.
  3. PENALTY AREAS – Hole #14 – Drop Zones as an additional option for balls in the penalty area left of the green right of the green side bunker. Hole #4 and #11 - as an extra relief option when Model Local Rule B-2.1 or B-2.2 is introduced, the player may also take lateral relief on the opposite edge of the penalty area for one penalty stroke.
  4. ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS:   Ground under repair is marked by white lines Immovable Obstructions – include all road or cart paths and worn extensions of them, the wooden buttresses, and steps adjacent to the 12 green The wooden buttresses adjacent to the ponds on holes 5,7,9 and 17 are part of penalty area. Ball lying in the penalty area: No relief without penalty. Ball lying outside penalty area take relief. The large rocks in the waste area on the right side of hole # 8 are integral parts of the course - no relief
  5. NO PLAY ZONES – Flower gardens, hedges next to tees and greens – swing and stance relief only. #12 hole defined by the right edge of the cart path marked with red paint and red stakes with green top.
  6. ANIMAL HOOF DAMAGE – Except in penalty areas or on the putting green, damage that is clearly identifiable as being caused by animal hoofs is ground under repair from which free relief is allowed. On the putting green, the damage may be repaired. 
  7. MODEL LOCAL RULE E-12 is in effect.
  8. SUSPENSION OF PLAY (Rule 5.7) – The course and all practice areas are closed when play is suspended for a dangerous situation until the Tournament Rules Committee has declared them open. A player using such practice areas will be subject to disqualification.  Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspensions will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes.
  9. TIES – Ties for first and/or third place in the Junior Boy and Girls and first in both Juvenile Girls and Boys will be played off for. If necessary, the playoff will start on the hole #10 and continue holes #16, #17 and #18, etc until a winner is determined.
  10. PACE OF PLAY - The Pace of Play for this championship is 4.5 hours.  Timing stations are at holes 4, 9, 13 and 18.  Full details of the Pace of Play Policy are available at golfcanada.ca.

NOTES:

  1. Search time for lost ball: A reminder that a ball is lost if not found within 3 minutes after the player begins to search for it.
  2. Doubt as to procedure (Rule 20.1c):  If a player is uncertain about the right procedure while playing a hole he may complete the hole with two balls without penalty.  After the uncertain situation arises and before making a stroke, announce to your marker or another player that you are playing a second ball, and declare which ball you wish to count if the Rules allow.  If the player fails to select a ball to count, the first ball played is chosen by default. You must report the facts to the Committee before signing your card, even if you scored the same with each ball.
