COVID-19 CHAMPIONSHIP PARTICIPANT WAIVER

All contestants MUST sign the participant waiver prior to arriving at the championship. The waiver will be emailed to all contestants to sign digitally using SignNow. Players must only sign the waiver once during the 2021 season.

ENTRY DEADLINE

Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by the PNGA by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021.

 

REFUND POLICY

Refunds due to cancellation before the close of entry are subject to a $10 service charge. After the close of entry and up until round one pairings are released, refunds for documented and approved medical reasons are subject to a $25 service charge. No refund for any reason will be issued after round one pairings have been released.

Note: Players who cancel and are replaced by a player on the waiting list will only be subject to a $10 service fee.

 

COURSE YARDAGE

Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Hole-by-hole yardages are posted on the championship portal and will be emailed to players. Course Yardage: 6,716, par-72

 

ONSITE REGISTRATION

All contestants must register in person with the PNGA at Wildhorse Resort & Casino prior to starting round one play. Registration will be located outside the golf shop during the following times:

SUNDAY, AUGUST 8: 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

MONDAY, AUGUST 9: 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.            

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Round one and two starting times (stroke play qualifying) will be released on Monday, August 2. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the PNGA website (thepnga.org), on the championship portal and will be emailed to each player.

 

SCHEDULE

STROKE PLAY: 36-hole stroke play to determine the low 32 qualifiers for match play. A tie for the last qualifying place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off after the final group finishes on Tuesday, August 10.

 

MONDAY, AUGUST 9 (Round 1): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 10 (Round 2): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

 

MATCH PLAY: A draw based on qualifying scores will be used. Ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by performance in the play-off.

 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11 (Round of 32): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11 (Round of 16): Starting times from 1:00 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 12 (Quarterfinals): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 12 (Semifinals): Starting times from 1:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 13 (Finals): Starting time at 7:30 a.m.

 

PRACTICE ROUND

Contestants may play one complimentary practice round before the championship. Practice rounds will be available any time on August 2nd – 5th and after 12:00 p.m. on August 6th – 8th.  Practice Round cart fees will be $20 per rider. All practice round starting times are at the discretion of the golf shop staff. Tee times can be made by calling the golf shop at (541) 276-5588 beginning on July 19.

 

FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)

The restaurant will open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with full menu service. After 2:00 p.m. until play is complete on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, grab-and-go items will be available only. The restaurant will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday will full menu service.

 

BOTTLED WATER

The PNGA will provide bottled water during the championship. Coolers will be at multiple locations on the golf course. A beverage cart will not be on the course during play. 

 

HOSTED LUNCH

All contestants will receive a $30 Wildhorse Resort & Casino gift card at registration. Gift cards can be used resort-wide for food and beverage or in the golf shop.

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Wildhorse Resort & Casino accepts all major credit cards and cash as methods of payment.

 

HOURS OF OPERATION

The golf shop and driving range will be open each day from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

RANGE BALLS

Warm-up range balls will be provided to contestants on the driving range before each round.

 

CARTS

Carts will be available to participants for $20 per rider per day. Fees for stroke play qualifying will be collected by the PNGA during registration. Players advancing to match play will pay cart fees directly to Wildhorse Resort & Casino prior to each round inside the golf shop.

  

SPECTATOR CARTS

To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by the PNGA. 

 

CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS

The PNGA is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at PNGA championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the PNGA Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, the PNGA will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available.

 

Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.

PULL CARTS

A limited number of pull carts will be available to rent for $10 a day in the golf shop.

 

CADDIES

Caddies are permitted, but Host Club caddies will not be available. Contestants may provide their own caddie.

 

PRIZES
The Champion, Runner-up, Semifinalists, Quarterfinalists, and the stroke play qualifying Medalist will all receive crystal awards. In the event of a tie for Medalist honors, duplicate awards will be awarded and seeding will be determined randomly.

        

Awards will be also given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during the stroke play qualifying rounds. 

 

AWARDS PRESENTATION

An awards presentation will take place in the scoring area immediately following the completion of the final match on Friday, August 13.

 

EXEMPTIONS

The champion of the Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship will receive a lifetime exemption into the PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship.

 

PERFORMANCE POINTS

Performance points may be awarded for the PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship through the player’s respective state or provincial association.

 

GHIN SCORE POSTING

The PNGA will post competition scores during stroke play qualifying for all players to the USGA GHIN System. Stroke play scores will be submitted to BC Golf for posting in Canada. Players should post their adjusted match play scores.

 

STROKE LIMIT POLICY

Players must return a score within 12 strokes of the course rating in at least one of the two stroke play qualifying rounds. Failure to do so will disqualify the player from entering the PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship for a minimum of one year.

 

DRESS CODE

Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The PNGA Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: thepnga.org/championship-home/championship-policies/ and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

The PNGA expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a PNGA Championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any PNGA event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:

 

  • Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
  • Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
  • Damaging host club, PNGA, and/or fellow contestant property
  • Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or PNGA volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
  • Potential endangerment of others
  • Intentionally violating stated club policy
  • Violation of PNGA Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
  • Other conduct deemed unbecoming

 

The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.

 

UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL

After the entry deadline and during play of the championship, players must notify the PNGA and state her need to withdraw. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying the PNGA or without having sufficient reason) will not be granted entry into any future PNGA Championship for a minimum of two years.

 

PACE OF PLAY POLICY

Players should be familiar with the PNGA’s Pace of Play Policies for both stroke play and match play.

 

LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION

Players should be familiar with the PNGA’s 2021 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.

 

PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT

Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
