MAPGA Head Professional Championship
This is NOT a Player of the Year Points Event for the Open, Senior and Women's Categories
Eligibility: MAPGA A-1, A-2, A-4, A-5, A-7, A-9, A-13 Members in good standing, as of the entry deadline and tournament date.
Start Times: Tee Times starting at approximately 8:00 AM. More details will be known closer to event date.
Format: 18 holes of Individual Stroke Play.
Practice Rounds: Practice Rounds are not available
Senior Division: Participants 50 years old and over as of the event date will have the option of competing in either the Regular Division or in the Senior Division, which will be divided into three sub-divisions based on age: 50-59; 60-69; 70+ (you may play down in age, e.g. a 70 year old may choose to play in the 50-59 or 60-69 age group).
Those seniors wishing to compete in the Senior Division shall compete from separate tees and play for a separate purse based on the percentage of seniors in each age division versus the rest of the field. All male seniors will play from the same tees. The overall low score in the Senior Division, regardless of age, will be the winner of the Senior Division, and will win first place money from his/her age sub-division. Any ties will share prize money. There must be a minimum of five seniors to have a Senior Division and three players in a sub-division. If there are less than three in a sub-division, the senior(s) has the option to play in a younger sub-division, play in the Regular Division, or withdraw (with a full refund).
Tees: There will be four sets of tees. 1) Men age 49 and under. 2) Men age 50-69 will play 93% of Men 49U tees. 3) Women age 49 and under & Men 70 and older will play 85% of Men 49U tees. 4) Women age 50-69 will play 79% of Men 49U Tees. This means that men age 70 and over will play "up" from the other senior men.
Ties: A tie for first place only in either the Regular or Senior Divison shall be decided by a sudden death playoff beginning immediately following completion of play. All other ties shall split prize money and POY points.
Optional Contests: There will be an optional $100.00 Players Pool (30% of Players Pool entrants paid) and an optional $20 skins game. There will be one skins game for all Seniors.
