Terms of the Competition

Eligibility

There are three divisions in the Bubby Worsham -   

Dewey Ricketts 14-15 - Any boy who has reached his 14th birthday but not his 16th by Aug 3. 

Dewey Ricketts 16-18 - Any young man who has reached his 16th birthday but not his 19th by Aug 3. 

Young Amateurs 19-24 - Any young man who has reached his 19th birthday and not his 25th by Aug 3. 

 

Entry Fee:  $100.00 per player.  Field is limited to the first 120 entries.  Entries in excess of 138 will be waitlisted.  Post entries accepted subject to availability of spots.  Call 410-991-7843.  The Committee reserves the right to reject any entry. 

 

Entries open Monday, March 15 at 9:00 AM and close Monday, July 26 at 6:00 PM.  Refunds:  If a player withdraws by the close of entries - refund is subject to a $20.00 admin fee.  If a player withdraws after that date and time, no refund will be given. 

 

Format:  36 holes of Stroke Play for all age divisions.  The Over-All Low Scorer after 36 holes will be the Bubby Worsham Champion.   All players will play from the same set of tees.                                             

 

Caddies/carts and pull/push carts are not permitted

 

Rules of Golf:  Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and the R & A.   The competition is final when the trophy has been presented to the winner or, in the absence of a prize ceremony, when all scores have been approved by the Committee.

Prizes :  The overall low scorer, from any division, is the Worsham Champion and will have his name engraved on the Bubby Worsham Memorial Plaque and on the Del Web Trophy, a sterling silver bowl.  Arnold Palmer won this event in 1951 and his name is engraved on that bowl.  The Worsham Champion as well as the winner of the Young Amateur Division and the winner, runner-up, and third place finisher in the Ricketts Divisions divisions will receive a trophy award.  Gift certificates will be awarded to the top finishers. 

 

Start Times:  Starting times will be e-mailed to all contestants and can be obtained via http://www.wmgagolf.org shortly after close of entries.
