Entry & Eligibility Information


Entries Open: Monday, May 03, 2021 at 10:00 AM
Entries Close: Friday, July 09, 2021 at 04:00 PM

 

Entry Fee: $250/team; includes cart and range balls for both players.  The professional entrant must supply their Social Security number as part of the application.

Eligibility: Each team shall consist of one amateur and one professional, but partners do not have to be from the same club. The amateur must be a member of an MSGA member club with an up-to-date USGA index at a licensed club of 8.4 or less. The professional must be employed by a MSGA member club, or be a resident of Maryland. The handicap index must be at the member club shown on the entry form, must be current on the date of the event, and must be viewable on the verification site of www.msga.org.  Entries may be rejected by the MSGA at any time, including during the competition. The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct, such as violation of host club policies, or failure to comply with the requirements of the handicap system.

 

Refund Policy: A withdrawal prior to seven days of the event will receive a refund minus a $25.00 processing feeThere will not be a refund if a withdrawal is received less than seven days prior to the event without written medical excuse.

Championship Information


Format/Field Size: The tournament will be 18 holes Four-Ball Stroke Play. The field will be limited to the first 90 entries received on a timely basis. Additional teams will be placed on a waiting list.  

 

Starting Times: Tournament Starting Times will be emailed approximately 10 days before the event. Times can also be found by visiting the 2021 Pro-Amateur Championship Tournament Portal or www.msga.org.

 

Prizes: The payout will be to 30% of the number of teams entered.  The MSGA will offer a cash prize purse to professionals based on field size i.e. if 30 teams $3500; if 40 teams $4500; if 50 teams $5500, etc. Appropriate prizes will be awarded to the amateur members of such teams. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole-by-hole play-off will follow immediately upon the completion of play.
