Qualifying Entry & Eligibility Information

Amateur Entry Fee: $170/player
MAPGA Member Entry Fees: $250/player
Non-MAPGA Professional Entry Fees: $500/player
**All entry fees include cart and range balls for both days.**
Eligibility: This tournament is open to male amateur members of member clubs of the Maryland State Golf Association with up-to-date USGA Indexes at licensed clubs of 8.4 or less as of August 15; to male professionals who are Middle Atlantic PGA members or registered apprentices; to male professionals employed by member clubs; and to male professionals who are residents of Maryland. All players must have reached their 50th birthdays by midnight of October 12. Super Seniors must have reached their 60th birthdays by midnight of October 12. The handicap index must be at the member club shown on the entry form, must be current on the date of the event, and must be viewable on the verification site of www.msga.org. Entries may be rejected by the MSGA at any time, including during the competition. Reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct, such as violation of host club policies, or failure to comply with the requirements of the handicap system. Entrants may be required to provide evidence of playing ability.
Refund Policy: A withdrawal prior to seven days of the event will receive a refund minus a $25.00 processing fee. There will not be a refund if a withdrawal is received less than seven days prior to the event without written medical excuse.

Format/Field Size: The competition will be 36 holes stroke play with Senior (50 and over) and Super Senior (60 and over) age categories.
Starting Times: Tournament Starting Times will be emailed approximately 10 days before the event. Times can also be found by visiting the 2021 Maryland Senior Open Tournament Portal or www.msga.org.
Prizes: The Maryland State Golf Association will award a total of approximately $13,000.00 in prize money to the low scoring professionals in the Senior and Super Senior categories. Appropriate prizes will also be awarded to the low scoring amateurs in each category. In the event of a tie for the Championship, for low score in the Super Senior category, or for the low amateur in either category, a hole-by-hole play-off will follow immediately upon the conclusion of play. No player may win more than one cash or merchandise certificate prize.
