New England Women's Amateur Championship

Eligibility: Entries are open to female amateur golfers who hold membership in a club belonging to one of the six New England State Golf Associations and have an up-to-date USGA/GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 18.0
 
Entry Procedures: Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the NEGA Online Entry process by 5:00 pm EST on the published entry deadline.

Format: Competition will be 54-holes stroke play over three days. The field will be cut to the low 70 players (and ties) after 36-holes. The cut will be evenly distributed (by percentage) in each of the two divisions. 

Divisions & Awards: There are two divisions in the New England Women's Amateur Championship. The Championship division is a gross-only competition played from approximately 5700 - 6000 yards (yardages subject to change). The Overall Champion, Runner-Up, Junior Champion, and Senior Champion will be awarded from this division. The Tournament Division is a gross & net (using 6/27 handicap Revision) competition played from approximately 5500 - 5700 yards (yardages subject to change). The Legend Champion will be awarded from this division. Prize Certificates will be awarded to the best gross players in the Championship Division and the best gross & net players in the Tournament Division. 

Field: The Championship Proper field is limited to 120 players. The Championship committee reserves the right to institute a cut to the low 70 players and ties after the conclusion of Round 2. If a cut is instituted, it will be communicated to players at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the Championship, including a breakdown of number of players in each division making the cut. 

 

Practice Rounds: Practice Rounds are available (subject to club availability) on weekdays leading up to the Championship. Players traveling for the event that need a practice round on Sunday 6/27 should contact the club in advance as practice rounds will be limited to the afternoon. The practice round fee is $40 including golf cart.  

 

Approximate Yardage: Below is an approximate yardage chart for the Championship that players may use for practice rounds. Please note, yardages will change each day of the Championship and all yardages are subject to change due to numerous factors.

Schedule - Championship Proper:
Round 1 - June 28 (18 Holes)
Round 2 - June 29 (18 Holes) *Cut to Low 70 players plus ties*
Round 3 - June 30 (18 Holes)
The lowest scorer for 54 holes will be Champion.
If a tie for first place occurs, play will immediately continue hole-by-hole until a winner is determined. If ties for other positions occur, duplicate merchandise certificates will be awarded.
 
Caddies & Automotive Transportation: Players may use caddies during play. A player is not required to employ a caddie for any round of the competition. Players shall be permitted to use automotive transportation during play. The cost of cart transportation is included in the entry fee for all competitors. Please Note: The NEGA does NOT permit the use of more than two golf carts per group. Players may be required to share a cart, and the availability of a seat in a golf cart for a caddy is not gauranteed. 

Food/Beverage: The NEGA will be providing a complimentary luncheon on June 28th & 29th for all players. Food & Beverage is available for purchase on the final day of the competition. 

Starting Times: Championship Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors on Monday, June 14 by 5:00pm. 

Prizes: Winner will receive the Championship. Cup and merchandise certificate. Merchandise certificates are only redeemable at the host club. The Senior Champion (age 50+ players in the Championship Division) will receive the Carol Patton Senior Champion Trophy. The Junior Champion (age 18 & under in Championship Division) will receive the Kathy Albright Junior Champion Bowl. The Legend Champion (age 65+ in the Tournament Division) will receive the Sydney Arnold Legend Champion Trophy. The Fanchon Cartin State Team Trophy will be awarded to the low team over three days (2 best Gross Championship Division Players and Best Net Tournament Division Player each day). 

Inclement Weather/Cancelled Round Stipulation: The NEGA reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein.

Restrictions: If the Championship course is declared unplayable and as a result it is not possible to complete the 54 holes of play in the period in which the Championship is scheduled, the Championship will not be extended beyond the last scheduled day and the winner shall be the individual who returns the lowest score for the number of stipulated rounds played. The Committee may institute a cut in order to play the last stipulated round.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy
Competitors, who have submitted an entry for an NEGA event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the NEGA office in writing (e-mail is acceptable and encouraged) or by phone. Entry fee will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if the NEGA is notified in writing or by phone seven days prior to each event. Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven days prior to each event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received on the scheduled date of an event (Championship or Qualifier).​
