BRAEMAR WOMEN’S CLUB

Please follow these LOCAL RULES for all BWC LEAGUES

Please Keep a good pace of play-your tee group should not lose sight of the group in front of you (no matter where the group behind you is). To keep pace of play, a suggestion is you can pick up and move to the next hole if have maxed out.

Suggested Maximum Strokes for Pace of Play

PAR 3 = 7 stroke MAX

PAR 4 = 8 stroke MAX

Par 5 -= 9 strokes MAX

IN ALL EVENTS YOU MUST RECORD YOUR TOTAL STROKES ON EACH HOLE

Please follow the instructions from your League Reps-

Lost Ball: You are allowed 3 Minutes to search - if you cannot find your ball, you need to take a Penalty Stroke - Drop a ball in play.  Players can drop the ball from around their knee, primarily to speed up play by increasing the chances your ball stays within the two-club-length on the first try.

Putting Green: Ready Play on Putting Green.  Mark your ball when you realize the ball is in the line of another.  If you are close to the pin you may ask other players if you can finish putting.  First two players that finish putting proceed to the next tee box, if possible.  Mark your Scorecard at the next hole.  At the next hole if the fairway is clear you may tee off while waiting for the others in your group.

Penalty Areas:  All of the penalty areas are RED at Braemar, we do not have any marked yellow.

Your three options when you hit the ball in a red penalty area are:

  • You can play it as it lies or take relief outside the penalty area for one penalty stroke or…
  • You can play from where your last stroke was made (stroke and distance) or take back-on-the-line relief by going back as far as you’d like on the line between the hole and where your ball last crossed the edge of the penalty area.
  • In a red penalty area, you have one additional relief option, which is to take lateral relief within two club-lengths of where your ball crossed into the penalty area.

Native Areas:

  • As a local rule for league play, the heavily grown natural areas throughout the course may be regarded as red-staked hazards. Relief of 2 club lengths, 1 stroke penalty. Note: you may not take an unplayable lie in a penalty area.

Please be kind, courteous & respectful to the entire Braemar staff, including all the maintenance workers.
