Championship Information

Format/Field Size: The format for this tournament is 36-holes of stroke play with no cut after the first day. The field will be limited to 78 contestants with 46 positions reserved for professionals and 32 positions reserved for amateurs. If the reserved positions have not been filled in any category by 8:00 am on October 1, 2021, those positions will become open to players on the waiting list in the order in which the entries were received. A minimum of six players from either the Senior Amateur or Senior Professional categories will be necessary to form the Senior Division. The Senior Division will be limited to the first 24 players that register.

Tee Times: The MSGA will assign pairings and starting times. Starting times and pairings for round one will be available on October 8, 2021 and will be sent to participants via email. Pairings for round two will be available by the same means after the completion of the first round.

Prizes:

  • The total purse for low scorers in the Professional and Senior Professional categories will be at least $15,000, determined by the size of the field. The allocation of the purse will be based on the total number of professionals in each category.
  • Appropriate merchandise prizes will be awarded to the low scorers in the Amateur and Senior Amateur categories. The allocations of the merchandise prizes will be based on the total number of amateurs in each category.
  • The winner of the Women’s Open Championship will be the lowest score from either the Professional or Amateur categories, and she will have her name engraved on the permanent trophy.
  • The lowest score from the Amateur category will have her name engraved on the Campbell Cup.
  • In the event of a tie for Overall Champion (Professional or Amateur), Overall Senior (Senior Professional or Senior Amateur), or low Amateur, a hole-by-hole playoff will follow immediately after the completion of play. Ties for any other prizes will be resolved by a match of cards for the amateurs, according to the USGA recommended method, and a split of the purse for the professionals.
