INFORMATION

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In Sectional qualifying and in the Championship proper, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.  If a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

NEW GROOVE CONDITION OF COMPETITION: The player’s clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010.

You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

PRACTICE ROUND:  For practice rounds at Battle Creek CC please contact the golf shop for rates and availability - (269) 962-6121. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as US Amateur Four-Ball Qualifier contestants.

FOOD:  The halfway house will have food available for purchase.

CADDIES/CARTS:  All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Caddies must also walk. Pull carts may be used if the host club allows them. Spectator carts are not permitted by the USGA.

PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.

PLAYOFF:  In case of ties, there will be a playoff immediately following play for the final spot as well as the order for the two (2) alternate positions.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, please contact the USGA at (908) 234-2300 leading up to the tournament.  If you must withdraw the night or weekend before then please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #124.  Failure to notify may result in suspension from future USGA and GAM competitions.
