Format:
One 18 hole stipulated round of four-ball stroke play. Contestants will play from the WHITE USGA Markers wherever they are situated (see Yardage sheet). The low TWO sides will advance to the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship at Jupiter Hills Club in Tequesta, Florida on May 19-23, 2018. Any play-offs will take place immediately after the conclusion of play for the last spot and two alternate positions.
Competition Schedule:
Starting times will start at 8:00am off of holes #1 and #10.
Please check the NCGA website for groupings and starting times. Please be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.
Practice Round Information:
Fee - $80 (Monday-Thursday), $100 (Friday & Sunday), $110 (Saturday); carts are optional at $25 per player (cart path only). A courtesy block of times is available from 12 PM – 1 PM on Tuesday, December 5 on a first come-first served basis and will be opened to the public November 22. Cart Information:
Automotive transportation is prohibited. Players and caddies must walk. Pull-carts are permitted. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.
Caddies:
Limited caddies are available from Poppy Hills by contacting the Pro Shop. Arrangements MUST be made in advance, do not expect caddies to be available without prior arrangements.
Practice Balls:
Provided for players prior to and following competition round at no cost. The practice range will open at 7:00am. The practice putting and chipping greens will open at sunrise.
Payment Information:
Cash, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted for all purchases (golf shop and food and beverage).
Food and Beverage Information:
Porter’s Restaurant will be open at 6:00 AM. The Snack Bar opens at 9:00am. No outside food and beverage is permitted.
Withdrawals:
Notify the NCGA at 831-625-4653 to withdraw. Players that fail to notify the NCGA prior to their starting time will be listed as No Shows.
Refunds:
In the event of injury or illness, contact the USGA at (908) 234-2400 for a refund prior to May 19, 2017. No refunds will be issued after May 19, 2018. A $30 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.
ADDITIONAL RULES INFORMATION
Rules Information:
The Rules of Golf effective January 1, 2016 are in effect and are supplemented by the 2017 USGA Hard Card. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site. It is the player’s responsibility to know the conditions of the competition.
Limitation of Golf Balls:
The optional condition in Appendix I known as the “One Ball” Rule is in effect. See Appendix I.
Automotive Transportation:
The use of automotive transportation is prohibited for players and caddies. See Appendix I.
Footwear:
Shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round. Penalty for breach of this condition: Disqualification.
Distance-Measuring Devices:
Optional Local Rule permitting the use of distance-measuring devices is in effect. See Appendix I-A-7 (pg. 153).
Grooves Condition:
Optional condition prescribed in Decision 4-1/1 is in effect. You may check to see if your grooves are conforming by using the Informational Club Database - http://www.usga.org/InfoClubsDB/intro.html
