13th Annual

Mayor's Golf Charity Classic

  Charities

The Mayor's Classic has raised over $325,000 for local charities in the past 12 years.

This year's tournament raises funds for the Comox Valley Child Development Association,

L'Arche Comox Valley, the North Island College Foundation, WeCanShelter Society and the Cumberland Museum.

The Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA) supports children, youth and adults with diverse abilities and their families. It’s easy to access our services. If you’re concerned about your child’s development, you can just give us a call. All of the services at the CVCDA are family-centred. This means we recognize that you know your child best and play the most important role in their life.

L’Arche Comox Valley is a community of people with and without developmental disabilities, sharing our lives fully and helping each other to discover our hidden gifts. We are located in Courtenay, British Columbia, Canada. Several of our core members and assistants live in Jubilee House, our supported residence. Our offices and studios are located in the I Belong Centre, where people come to participate in social and creative arts activities. The I Belong Centre is also home to the Vanier Suites, a co-housing community of several core members living semi-independently.

OUR MISSION

To raise awareness and funds to support local students through scholarships and bursaries, equip classrooms with current technology, and ensure that the best possible learning facilities are accessible right here in our communities at North Island College.

The WeCan Shelter Society mission is to build homes for residents of the Comox Valley that are experiencing homelessness. We work together with Dawn to Dawn Action on Homelessness Society. For $25000 we can build a 20' x 8' home for someone.

The Cumberland Museum and Archives (CMA) on Vancouver Island tells the story of the people of Cumberland — the rich, the poor, the powerful, the rebellious, the righteous and the radical.
