The Alamance County Amateur is a golf community tradition hosted by the City of Burlington in Alamance County. Throughout its history the event has offered a competitive golf platform for golfers of all skill levels to test their games on our community golf tracks. Whether a golfer is seeking out the coveted “Golf King of the County” or just wanting to test their game in  the “competitive waters” it is a great golfing event.

 

After a two year hiatus, the 2021 Alamance County Am is coming back with a bold three course line up where players will compete on the Challenge Golf Course in Graham, NC, The Valley Golf Course in Burlington, NC and Mill Creek Golf Club in Mebane, NC on October 8,9 and 10.

 

The event is open to the first 100 golfers that sign up for the event by September 24th and the format will be an individual stroke play event whereby players will play 36 holes and then be flighted on the last day according to their 36 hole performance. The top 25 and ties after 36 holes will qualify for the prestigious Championship flight on the final day having a chance to  claim “bragging rights” as the “Golf King of the County”. All other golfers will compete in 3 alternate divisions for great  prizes.

 

This year our title sponsor is Wilson Tire Pros and Automotive with two locations in Graham and Elon and along with a fun player pack including a shirt sponsored by Dave’s Furniture Decorator’s Warehouse and great prizes for the top three winners in each flight, closest to the pin prizes from local businesses, and a Hole in 1 car sponsor  from Stearns Ford golfers will get food from Smokehouse at Steve’s Friday after their round and breakfast from Skids Elon on Saturday.

 

Lastly, our final day at Mill Creek will feature a live remote broadcast from 95.1 The Maverick keeping the community up to date with the final round event happenings!

This will be an individual stroke play event for 54 holes 

After 36 holes of play golfers will be flighted into 4 flights for the final day of play 

 

Most Golfers will compete from around 6000 yards on all 3 days

(ONLY on the Final Day Championship division will compete at 6500 yards)
