WELCOME
If you have been referred to the TPGL by one of our members or have been on our website, or seen our newsletters or marketing flier, you most likely have some idea about the TPGL already. We hope you like what you see and have a good overview of what the TPGL has to offer.
WHAT WE ARE ALL ABOUT
Our primary objective is to offer you a golf experience that makes it easy to play competitive golf with a variety of players on the weekends/holidays at quality courses. And yes, we like to compete with golfers who take the game seriously and are of good character and fun to be around.
We have low handicap, mid-handicap, and high-handicap players in the TPGL. ALL are trying to play their best and are dedicated to the rules of golf and improving their play. We putt everything out, there are no Mulligans, and our League Handicaps are derived from League play. We're competing for something, both on a given day and over the course of the season. All in all, we offer a golfing atmosphere that makes it extremely fun for a competitive amateur golfer to play the game no matter what his handicap is.
WELCOME TO THE TPGL
A PGA tour-like competitive golf experience for amateur golfers of all skill levels
Let's walk you the the registration steps and get you on the way to your TPGL membership !
To join the TPGL and secure a membership, there are six things you need to do.
1
CONTACT DANNY BROWN
Contact TPGL Commissioner - Danny Brown at
847-909-2080
or
danny.brown305@comcast.net.
Danny will walk you through the registration process and will obtain information from you including your address, email, contact phone number. He will also be sending you a registration packet in the mail with information that you need to tell us regarding how many TPGL rounds you anticipate playing, what tee box options you plan to choose at each TPGL home course, and your golf handicap information.
2
LEAGUE DUES
In the registration packet that you will receive in the mail, there is information regarding dues.
TPGL League Dues for 2018 are $245 payable by cash or check. Payment is due on or before March 1, 2018.
This year's dues includes the $10 membership in the prestigious TPGL Hole-In-One Club.
If paying by check, please make $245 check payable to Phil Lamont. You can include along with other information (see steps 3-5) in the enclosed, stamped envelope addressed to Phil Lamont.

TPGL WEBSITE REGISTRATION/FEE
You will also receive an Email asking you to register with the TPGL website. Each player must individually pay the $21 website fee using a credit card. This will allow you to input your profile so the League gets to meet you, etc. When the season starts rolling, you will be able to register to play for events, track results, and have full access to the site.
The email will show you how to register. Simply click Pay My Subscription in the drop down list after clicking the "gear" icon on the right side of the banner above. Refer to diagram 2.0 below.
5
ESTABLISHING YOUR TPGL HANDICAP
The TPGL uses the USGA Handicap system for computing your TPGL handicap. Once established, your TPGL handicap will include only rounds played with the TPGL on a forward basis.
On the enclosed form: ESTABLISHING YOUR TPGL HANDICAP, we will need your CDGA member number. If you are not a member of the CDGA, we will need your most recent 20 scores including the course name, rating and slope. If you have fewer than 20 scores, provide as many as you can recall including the course name, rating and slope. We will use the USGA provision - section 10-2 - for computing your handicap if you have less than 20 scores.
When you have completed steps 1-5, you can send your dues check, the form indicating your estimated number of rounds and course tee box preference, and your golf handicap information to Phil Lamont. In your registration packet is a stamped envelope with Phil's address on it. Phil is at: 690 Waterford Court - Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
3
HOW MANY ROUNDS DO YOU ANTICIPATE PLAYING?
Your registration packet includes a form asking you to indicate the number of rounds you intend to play in 2018 and of the rounds you intend to play, how many of those days are the TPGL majors? Such as the Masters, the US Open, the OPEN, and the 2-Man Championship?
This will help us better understand how many rounds you're available for Head to Head matches.
4
WHAT IS YOUR COURSE TEE BOX PREFERENCE?
Also on the form, you are asked to indicate your course tee box options. You will need to declare your tee box preferences for each host home course prior to the 2018 season.
Once preferences have been selected, they will be locked in for the entire 2018 season. TPGL players will not be allowed to switch back and forth at a specific course during the season.
Refer to Diagram 1.0 for reference.
CONGRATULATIONS:
Once you have completed steps 1-6, you should be ready to go for the 2018 season!
Play well this year and good luck in your bid to capture the 2018 Championship!
