PINETOP
Pinetop is open to all women golfers who are members of PWGA. Matches are played from April through September at the following local clubs: Foxfire, Mid South, Pinehurst, Pinewild, Seven Lakes, and Whispering Pines. Each club may send 12 players and 4 alternates. If more than 12 players sign up, a lottery is conducted to determine the first 12 players who will play for points and prizes. The next 4 players will be alternates who will play for prizes and substitute if one of the 12 players cancels. If the Host Club can accommodate more than 16 players, there will be additional alternates who can play but not for prizes. The tournament is peer play and players are flighted by handicap. Prizes are awarded per flight for Low Gross, 1st Low Net, and 2nd Low Net. At the end of the season, the club scoring the most points holds the Pinetop Trophy for the year.
The sign-up sheet will be open on Golf Genius approximately 4 weeks before the tournament. All fees will be charged to your Club account. A one-week cancellation notice is required to have the money refunded (or as noted on the invitation). Course handicap is limited to 40 or less. In case of inclement weather, each club has an Inclement Weather Policy for golf that will be invoked if needed. However, in all cases, lunch will be served and it is encouraged that you attend. The Host Club will have already ordered the food and the cost of lunch has been included in your payment. Scores are posted by the Hosting Club's Pro Shop as a non-tournament round.
