Summer Rules in Effect

Play will be governed by Golf Canada Rules of Golf, effective January 1st, 2019, and where applicable by the local rules.

TOURNAMENT TEE: Black Tees

TIME OF STARTING: If a player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five (5) minutes after his starting time, the  penalty for failure to start on time is two (2) strokes at the first hole. Penalty for lateness beyond five (5) minutes is disqualification.

PACE OF PLAY: A group is “out of position” if they finish the 18th hole (a) in more than 4 hours & 30 Minutes, and (b) they are more than 14 minutes behind the group in front.  A group is finished a hole when the flagstick goes back into the hole. The 14 minute gap is measured “flag-in to flag-in”. At the 18th hole, a group is out of position if the flag goes in more than 4 hours and 30 minutes playing time after their starting time on Hole 1, and more than 14 minutes after the flag went in for the previous group. The first group to tee off is out of position if they complete the 18th hole in more than 4 hours & 30 Minutes.  Each player in a group that is out of position finishing the 18th hole will be penalized one stroke counting on hole #18.

ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS: (a) any area marked as such by a white line or green & white stakes, (b) any newly sodded or seeded areas, (c) any bare ground in the closely mown area of the hole being played, and (d) any exposed rock, which is level with the ground.

DENFINITION OF PENALTY AREA AND NO PLAY PENALTY AREA: Penalty Areas are indicated by red stakes and yellow stakes. In the     absence of paint, rough cut lines at the edge of Penalty Area (grass longer than the rough cut grass adjacent to fairways, tees & greens) will indicate Penalty Area.  Please note that red & blue staked areas located to the right of Hole 3 green and left of Hole 11 green are designated no play penalty areas. If your ball comes to rest in these areas you must not enter or play from these areas. You must drop under the rules at point of entry or use the drop area where applicable.   Penalty 1 stroke

NEWLY PLANTED TREES (UNDER 2 CLUB LENGTHS IN HEIGHT): If such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or area of  intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty, and dropped within one club-length of and not nearer the hole than the nearest point of relief.

PROVISIONAL / OUT OF BOUNDS: If your ball is lost or out of bounds, you must take stroke-and-distance  relief by adding one penalty stroke and playing a ball from where the previous stroke was made (see Rule 14.6).

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES: A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3.

DISCONTINUANCE OF PLAY: One prolonged blast of the horn. In this case all players must leave their respective holes and either return to the Clubhouse or the nearest rain shelter.  Failure to discontinue play will result in disqualification

RESUME PLAY: Three five-second blasts of the horn.

TIE BREAKER: In the event for a tie for low gross overall, a playoff will take place immediately after all groups have completed play. The playoff will start on hole # 1 and continue on subsequent holes until a winner is determined.
