WEATHER: “Bad weather” (i.e. rain, wind) itself does not warrant cancelling this event. If inclement weather deems that the event be cancelled, all attempts will be made to reschedule.

FORMAT: 9-9 Format

-Teams of two compete. For the front nine teams will compete in a four-ball format and on the back nine teams will compete in a two-person scramble format.

-Four-Ball: Each player will play their own ball with the best net score between the teammates being counted on each hole.  Per USGA recommendations, men will receive 90% of their course handicap, women will receive 95%. A team that has a difference in course handicap amongst teammates of greater than 8 strokes will take an additional 10% reduction.

-Two-Person Scramble: Just as in a standard scramble, both players will tee off on each hole. They will then select the shot they wish to play. Both players will then play again and continue with this format until the ball is holed. The handicap allowances are as follows: 35% of the LOW handicap player will be used and 15% of the HIGH handicap player will be used.

-The teams with the lowest net 18-hole total will win gift cards to the Golf Mart stores.

-An optional skins game will be offered for this event (payable at check in, cash only).
-This event will place teams in flights based on their June 15th handicap index.

RULES/TEES:

-USGA Rules of Golf apply during play.
-For team events all competitors regardless of handicap index will play from the same set of tees in respect to their gender: Men – tees measuring between 6000-6500 yards; Women – tees measuring between 5000-5500. For individual events, players may be placed in flights based on handicap index and may be placed on different tees based on their flight/index. Lower handicap players (10.0 or less) may request to play a longer tee (6400+ yards for men, 5500+ for women), while higher handicap (above 18.4) and senior players (55 and up) may request to play a shorter tee (under 6000 for men, under 5000 for women), when the course allows and approved by WNT staff. All tee preferences must be submitted to staff no later than 5 days prior to the event.

KEY NOTES:
-Players MUST be an active NCGA member to participate. NCGA tournaments are open to amateur golfers who are members of a current NCGA member club in good standing.  The USGA’s definition of an amateur golfer is the standard of the NCGA.  Participants must meet all the eligibility requirements for the event they are entering. Any member who has not established a current numeric handicap index (CI) is ineligible to win prizes or skins.

-You can register as an individual and you will play with other participants of similar ability. We will do the best we can to pair similarly skilled players together. If you have a specific request as to who to play with, please note it in registration.
-All events will require that participants display proper golf etiquette and behaviors. This would include no denim, no cut-off clothing, the removal of hats when inside facility buildings and no foul language. Players could be given further prohibitions as the club sees fit but those will be provided in the player e-mail. The NCGA does have the right to remove anyone for not abiding by these rules at any time. Being removed from property would result in the loss of all funds.

-The NCGA reserves the right to adjust any player’s handicap index for Weekend Net Tour events.
