2018 Arizona Stroke Play Championship

Grand Canyon University Golf Course will be the host of the 2018 Stroke Play Championship. Located in Phoenix, Grand Canyon University purchased Maryvale Golf Course and renovated the course. In 2017 Jake Chanen won by three strokes at GCU Golf Course.

 

HOST SITE: Grand Canyon University Golf Course, 5902 W Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85033

DATES: April 26-29, 2018 (Thursday - Sunday)

GOLF CART USE: This is a MANDATORY WALKING EVENT. No cart privileges will be granted to participants, caddies or spectators. Click here for the complete guidelines of AGA’s golf cart policy. 
1) Spectator carts are NOT permitted.
2) Non-motorized push carts are permitted

CADDIES: Caddies are permitted for the Championship. They must walk at all times.

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice rounds may be made by calling GCU Golf Course at http://www.gcugolf.com/book-now/ or by calling 623-846-4022.  

FORMAT: 72 holes of individual stroke play @ gross. Max field size of 144 players with a cut to 60 + ties after 36 holes. 

ELIGIBILITY: Participants must hold an active membership with an AGA Member Club and have a USGA Handicap index of 5.4 or less.

EXEMPTIONS: Participants who finished in the top-60 + ties in 2017 automatically earn an exemption into the 2018 Arizona Stroke Play Championship. Those who wish to use their exemption into the Championship will need to complete Tournament Registration before Monday, April 2 or risk losing their exemption. Any remaining tournament spots may be filled by players with a higher than 5.4 index beginning April 9.

                Friday, April 27

PAIRINGS: Round 1 & 2 pairings will be released by the end of day on Monday, April 23. Participants will receive an email once pairings are released and will be posted online.

DRIVING RANGE: Practice balls will be available on the range prior to play on: Thursday – Sunday at Grand Canyon Golf Course.

TROPHY / PAYOUTS: Tournament Champion will receive a Kachina trophy. Players who make the cut to top 60 + ties will receive a $100 credit to Titleist merchandise shop on Saturday, April 28.

FOOD & BEVERAGE: The Lope House Restaurant located inside GCU Golf Course Clubhouse will be open from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. during the tournament.

WITHDRAW POLICY:

Prior to the Entry Deadline, players may withdraw from a tournament and receive a full refund by completing the withdraw process on the tournament website, calling the AGA office (602) 944-3035 during normal business hours or calling the Withdraw Line at (602) 944-3035 ext. 210 and leaving a message.

After the Entry Deadline has passed, any withdraw will be considered a “late withdraw”. Tournament entry fees will only be returned if the player’s position in the field is filled by an alternate. In any case, a $30 administrative fee will be deducted from any tournament entry fee refund, regardless of the reason for withdrawing.
