First Tee Greater Seattle is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit charity youth service organization, serving all of King and Snohomish Counties through character development programs for children 5-18, and implemented through the game of golf.
Young people learn to play the game of golf along with life-lessons and leadership skills. Children are first introduced to the Nine Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy & Judgment. Once these are mastered, they then progress into a new set of life skills, including: self-management, goal-setting and resiliency skills.
Ultimately, and upon graduation of the program at age 18, participants of First Tee are more confident, have better communication skills, and are more prepared to be successful in their next stage of life. And they also have all the skills and knowledge to be a golfer for life!
