NOTICE TO PLAYERS
Champions Cup (Team and Individual)

(This supplements the Terms of the Competition, Standard Local Rules and includes Supplementary Local Rules for the event.

 

  • Play is governed by the 2019 Golf Canada Rules of Golf, the 2020 Golf Saskatchewan Conditions of Competition, Standard Local Rules, following Terms of Competition and all Local Rules including supplementary local rules. 
  • Any local rules on The Legends GC host club scorecard do not apply during this championship.
  • Unless otherwise noted, penalty for the breach of a Local Rule/Terms of Competition = General Penalty (2 strokes).

 

FORMAT:

  • Champions Cup Team - Weather permitting, 18 holes of stroke play with Stableford scoring. Only 4 best scores will count for the overall team totals.  
  • Champions Cup Individual – 8 divisions for female/male competition. Highest Stableford point total will be the winner.

 

TEES:   

  • Junior Girls U19 | Senior Women 50+ | Super Senior Women 60+ | Red Tees (Approx. 5,200 yards)
  • Super Senior Women & Men 65+ | White Tees (Approx. 5,700 yards)
  • Senior Men 50+ | Junior Boys U19 | Blue Tees (Approx. 6,300 yards)
  • Amateur Men | Gold Tees (Approx. 6,700 yards)

Supplementary Local Rules

HOLING OUT: Reminder, under this format a player does not have to hole out. If you are at a double bogey, please pick up you ball and put an X on your scorecard.

POINT TOTALS: Our computer program will calculate the Stableford points for individual and team competitions. This is not required by the player or marker.  

DESIGNATED PRACTICE AREA: Practice is permitted in the following areas:

  • Practice putting and chipping greens near the clubhouse area and the driving range facilities. 
  • A player MUST NOT practice on the competition course the day of or between rounds.  Penalty for first breach: General Penalty. Penalty for second breach: DISQUALIFICATION.

OUT OF BOUNDS: Defined by white stakes, white lines and boundary stakes and fences along property lines of the golf course. The driving range and maintenance facility area is Out of Bounds.

REPLACEMENT OF BROKEN OR SIGNIFICANTLY DAMAGED CLUB: Model Local Rule (MLR) G-9 is in effect.

BALL PLAYED FROM OUTSIDE RELEIF ARE WHEN TAKING BACK-ON-THE-LINE-RELEIF: MLR E-12 is in effect.

NO PLAY ZONES (N.P.Z.): Protection of young trees identified stakes and ropes/wires. Relief is described in Model Local Rule E-10 in the 2019 Official Guide to the Rules of Golf.

REMINDER – DOUBT AS TO HOW TO PROCEED: If you are in doubt and play two balls under Rule 20.1c3 (page 284), you must report the facts to the Committee regardless of the score(s) on the hole before signing your scorecard and leaving the scoring area.

RETURN SCORECARD: Please have two signatures on the scorecards and legible marks on each hole. Please be patient in the scoring area as many groups will finish at the same time.  

PLAYOFFS: In the event of a tie, the Golf Saskatchewan Tie Breaking procedures will be used specifically for the CC.

Hole

Description for play of the hole.

  1.  

PAR 4: Red Penalty Area up the right hand side of the hole. Near the green, on the left hand side, there is a Red Penalty Area. Over the green there is Out of Bounds (OB) and extreme left off the teeing area à the driving range is OB.

PAR 4: OB to the right over the fence.

PAR 3: OB long over the back of the green in the hills is OB for the maintenance area. The rocks to the right area of the putting green are integral parts of the golf course. No Free relief. There is some GUR between the front right green side bunker and the cart path. Please proceed if you would like to with Nearest Point of Complete Relief, no nearer the hole.

PAR 5: On the right hand side of the hole, there is a Red Penalty Area to the right of the cart path (for approximately 230 yards). Once your ball has gone over/past the bunker on the left, there is a Red Penalty Area up the left hand side of the hole, past the green. There is OB on the right side of the hole over the perimeter fence.

PAR 4: OB up the right-hand side over the fence.
à for local Legend’s players, the Red Penalty Area has been removed from Hole #5.

PAR 5: There are some areas of GUR on Hole #6 (roped off area) and the middle/left in front of the green is painted white. There is also a GUR area near the green to the right hand side, near the cart path. Red Penalty Area at the green on the right hand side.

PAR 3: Red Penalty Area near the green on the right hand side. There is an immovable obstruction which is an integral part of the golf course à no free relief if the ball is in the bunker or Red Penalty Area. There is an area of GUR painted on the left hand side of the hole where carts park to access the putting green à a player has the option of playing the ball as it lies or taking Nearest Point of Complete Relief.

PAR 4: Red Penalty Area up the left hand side of the hole.

OB – maintenance area and the paved part of the cart parking area of the driving range.

PAR 3: Red Penalty Area in front of the teeing area (right) Waste Area, not at the green, is not a bunker but will be treated with the Bunker Options (disturbed area or not) with an additional notice for the player. As this is part of the General Area, a player may ground her/his club in this area.

PAR 5: Red Penalty Area up the left hand side of the hole and around the putting green. Approximately 80 yards from the putting green, a bunker has an immovable obstruction which is an integral part of the golf course à no free relief available.  There is NO - Red Penalty Area on the right hand side of #18.
