AVONDALE SILVER SALVER TERMS OF COMPETITION 2022

1. Format

1.1 The Avondale Silver Salver shall be decided over 18 holes stroke play on Wednesday, 16 February 2022.

1.2 In the event of a tie the result will be decided by countback using the Golf Australia method.

1.3 Prizes awarded to best 18 Hole Scratch (Trophy Winner) and Runner Up, 18 Hole Nett Winner and Runner Up. A player cannot win more than one prize. 1st place takes precendence over 2nd place.

 

2. Championship Committee

2.1 The Championship Committee shall comprise the Avondale Ladies Captain, Golf Operations Manager and other Members of the Avondale GC Match Committee.

2.2 In the absence of the full Championship Committee, such members as may be present at the time may give a decision and any decision so given shall be the decision of the full Championship Committee.

2.3 The Championship Committee shall have the sole management and control of the Championship with full power at any time to alter or vary any of the conditions.

2.4 The Championship Committee's decision on matters affecting the Championship shall be final. Protests may be made in writing and submitted to the Championship Committee within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the day's play.

 

3. Rules of Play
The Rules of Golf, as adopted by R&A Rules Ltd shall apply together with Local Rules as drawn up by the Championship Committee.

 

4. Entries

4.1 Entries must be made via the online entry. 

4.2 The entrance fee is AUD $60 (includes GST).

4.3 Eligible players are female amateurs whose handicap is 16.6 strokes or lower - GA Handicap or overseas equivalent.

4.4 Fully completed entries must be made prior to 12 noon Wednesday, 9 February 2022.

4.5 Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Championship Committee. 

4.6 Entries will not be accepted by telephone.

4.7 Entrance fees will only be refunded before the close of entries. A medical certificate must accompany a request for withdrawal on medical grounds.

4.8 Entries must be accompanied by a copy of the entrant's current handicap record for the previous six months, officially endorsed by the entrant's club, unless the entrant has provided her Golf Link number on the entry form.

 

5. Starting Times

5.1 It is a condition of this Championship that, in the absence of circumstances that warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 5.3a, if the player arrives at her starting point, ready to play, within five minutes of her starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes. The penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification.

 

6. Registration

6.1 Competitors must register 30 minutes prior to their allotted tee time at the designated registration area outside the Pro Shop.

 

7. Pace of Play

7.1 Rule 5.6 will be strictly enforced and a Pace of Play policy endorsed. Penalties will be issued to individuals in such groups, who infringe on the endorsed Pace of Play guidelines (available at the event). Warnings may not be issued prior to penalties.

 

8. Golf Balls

8.1 It is obligatory for all competitors in the Championship to play with a ball that is listed in the current R & A and/or USGA Conforming Golf Balls. Penalty: Disqualification

 

9. Motorised Transport

9.1 Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a round unless a valid medical certificate is provided with the entry form and it is authorised by the Championship Committee. Penalty as per page 497 R&A Decisions on the Rules of Golf. 

 

10. By-Laws, Rules and Dress Regulations

10.1 Entrants shall comply with the by-laws, rules and dress regulations of the Avondale Golf Club. Players and or Caddies not dressed appropriately will not be allowed access to the course. Dress regulations are available at www.avondalegolfclub.com.au

 

11. Mobile Phones

11.1 The use of a mobile phone by a competitor whilst on the golf course during the event is distracting and inconsiderate. If the competitior is in the possession of a mobile phone it should be turned off. If the phone rings this is deemed to be in use and the Committee may take disciplinary action against the offending player in accordance with the concluding paragraph of section 1, Etiquette; Behaviour on the course.

 

12. Consumption of Alcohol

12.1 The consumption of alcohol by competitors and caddies on the course during a round is strictly prohibited. Penalty: Disqualification. 

 

13. Distance Measuring Devices

13.1 A player may use equipment in accordance with Rule 4.3a. 

 

14. Suspension and Resumption of Play (Rule 5.7b):

14.1 An immediate suspension of play for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged note of the siren. Resumption of play will be signaled by three short notes of the siren.

 

15. Practice

15.1 Practice rounds will not be available prior to the Championship.

 

16. Compliance with Covid-19 Safety Plan

16.1 Avondale will have a comprehensive Covid-19 plan in place for the safety of all players, officials and staff. Failure to comply with the plan will result in a warning being issued. Serious breaches of the plan may result in the player being required to leave the premises and not permitted to return, and will constitute a withdrawal from the event.

 

17. Electronic Payment Only

17.1 Electronic payments will be the only form of payment accepted. Avondale will not be accepting any cash transactions in any areas.
