Format:
36 holes of stroke play (18 holes per day). Play will be 100% of the Course Handicap. Men will play from the WHITE NCGA tee markers and women will play from the RED NCGA tee markers, at the posted yardages, in all flights. Course Handicaps for women will be adjusted accordingly. In the event of a tie for first place, there will be a hole-by-hole play-off to determine the winner, in each flight, immediately following the conclusion of play. If a play-off cannot be conducted (decision of the Committee and golf course) the USGA method of matching cards will be used. Ties for second and third place, in each flight, will be broken using the USGA method of matching scorecards.
Flights:
Big Sur (8.9 and below); Golden Gate (9.0-13.1); Yosemite (13.2 and above)
Flights are determined using the October 1, 2018 Handicap Revision, the Championship will be played to the October 1, 2018 Handicap Revision.
Competition Schedule:
8:00 AM off the 1st and 10th tees. Check the Pairings and Starting Times tab for pairings and starting times. Players should be at their assigned tee 10 minutes prior to their starting time. Second round starting times will be posted on the Pairings and Starting Times tab following the conclusion of first round. Players will be grouped by score within their flights.
Practice Round Information:
Contact the Golf Shop at (831) 622-8239 to schedule a practice round. NCGA Member green fees are $80 Monday-Thursday, $100 Friday and Sunday, and $110 Saturday.
Cart Fee Information:
The NCGA is committed to providing golfers with disabilities as much course access as the conditions allow. Please contact the host Head Professional to make requests for additional access at least one week prior to the event. Golf carts are optional at the player’s expense. Cart rental is $25 per rider. Golf carts are restricted to cart paths at all times. A maximum of two carts per group is permitted. Push carts are permitted. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.
Golf Shop and Driving Range:
The golf shop will be open at 6:30 AM, the practice range will be open at 7:00 AM. Practice balls are included before the round.
Payment Information:
Cash, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted for all purchases (golf shop and food and beverage).
Food and Beverage Information:
Porter’s Restaurant will be open at 6:30 AM. Outside food and beverage is not permitted. To avoid losing position and penalty for slow play, we recommend all players order ready-made food at the grill or restaurant if doing so during their stipulated rounds.
Prizes:
First place in each flight will be awarded gold medals. Second place in each flight will be awarded silver medals. Third place in each flight will be awarded bronze medals.
Gate Clearance:
For Pebble Beach gate clearance, please state your name and the NCGA tournament you are playing in to the Pebble Beach Security personnel upon arrival at any gate to 17-Mile Drive.
Rules Information:
Golf shoes – Non-Metal Spikes required. Shoes with traditionally designed spikes (regardless of composition) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (when such metal comes in contact with the surface of the putting green) are prohibited. Penalty for breach of this condition: DISQUALIFICATION.
Practice Before or Between Rounds – Practice is permitted on the competition course prior to or between rounds of a stroke-play competition (See Note to Rule 7-1b).
Play-off – The format is the same as the championship, individual hole-by-hole stroke play. The stroke-hole allocation is not relevant so 1/18 of the players' Course Handicap for each hole will be applied. Fractions of one-half stroke or more will count as a full stroke; any lesser fraction will be disregarded. Ties for second and third place, in each flight, will be broken using the USGA method of matching scorecards.
