CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES – PLAYER OF THE YEAR (POTY)

  • Tournament within a Tournament - All MGA members eligible to play in these two events based on the MGA Eligibility Policy.
  • Only the Top 10 finishers qualify for Player of the Year honors.
  • Points reset for Top 10 and Ties.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR – TIE BREAKER

IF THERE IS A TIE FOR 1ST PLACE AT THE END OF THE MGA CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT, THERE WILL BE A SUDDEN DEATH MATCH PLAY EVENT OF ALL TIED PLAYERS USING 1) THEIR PLAYING HANDICAP AND 2) PLAYING FROM THEIR DEFAULT TEES

 

PLAYER OF THE YEAR – TOURNAMENT POINT VALUES

  • Points awarded based on “adjusted” 5 to 6 Teams per flight.
  • Players may participate in both the Net & Gross Match Plays, but only receive points based on their highest finish.
  • Points reset for Top 10 Player of the Year Qualifiers in the Championship Series.

As the Silver Cup is a Team Match Play event, the points are awarded as follows:

  • 150 Pts. For Four-Ball & Alternate Shot Match Win & 75 Pts. for Tied Match
  • 200 Pts. for Singles Match Win & 100 Pts for a Tied Match
  • 0 Pts. for Lost Match
  • 100 Pts. if on Winning Team
