Thursday Men's League

Thursday is our busiest day of the week! More than 100 golfers have regularly booked tee times to take part in our weekly men’s event. Booked times end at 4:00 pm, so please call the Pro Shop to make a booking.

Competition takes place over the front nine holes and is open to both members and guests.  To qualify for the day’s competition, players must sign in and pay the entry fee of $5.00 (plus cart and green fees if applicable) at the Pro Shop before teeing off.

Scoring is by the Stableford point system.  On each hole a player's net score (i.e. strokes minus handicap allowance for the hole) earns points:

Bogey - 1 point

Par - 2 points

Birdie - 4 points

Eagle - 6 points

A player’s score for the round is the sum of his points for the nine holes.

For Club members, flights are assigned and playing handicaps calculated using the Golf Canada handicapping system records, updated weekly.  Guests are assigned a flight and handicap by staff, based on the best available information.  Members with no Golf Canada index compete in the A Flight with a zero playing handicap.

Flight parameters are:

A Flight – Playing Handicap 9 or lower
B Flight – Playing Handicap 10 to 14
C Flight – Playing Handicap  15 to 18
D Flight – Playing Handicap  19 to 23
E Flight – Playing Handicap 24 or higher

Flight parameters may be adjusted occasionally to keep the number of competitors in each flight relatively equal.

Players record their gross strokes using the special league score card provided.  To be counted for the round, the submitted card must:

  • be completed accurately and legibly, including each competing player's full name;
  • be signed by the player(s) and submitted to the Pro Shop at the end of play;
  • contain gross stroke information for each hole.

Players may use the card to calculate points, but official scoring is done by staff.  Weekly results are posted on this web portal.  (Click "Results" above)
