Play is governed by the Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association and, where applicable, by the local rules and definitions, subject to change for this event by the Rules Committee. The Committee and Rules Officials for this event are Erik Hansen, Willow Run Head Golf Professional. Players must get rulings only from members of the Committee. 

 

ENTRY FEE: Men's Championship Flight - $60

             Men's Flights - $40

             Optional: $2o Daily Skins Game

 

TEES: Championship Flight – GOLD TEES 

             Mens Flights – BLUE TEES 

             Senior Flights (55 & over) - WHITE TEES

 

FORMAT: 36-Hole stroke play event. If there is a tie in the Championship Flight, there will be a sudden death playoff starting on Hole #1 – following the completion of play. Any other ties will split the money. 

 

SCORING AREA: The scoring area is the Willow Run Pro Shop. Please return your scorecard as soon as possible following play. Players not returning a card will be listed as “NC”. 

 

ABNORMAL GROUND CONDITIONS: The following areas are deemed as “abnormal ground conditions” from which players will be granted free relief. Proceed in accordance with Rule 16.1 

  • Areas circled in white paint, stakes, or rope. 

  • If your ball lies on any sod seams. 

 

OUT OF BOUNDS: Out of bounds is defined by white stakes/property fence line on holes 2, 8, 9, 11, 14, 18. The Willow Run Open will not be adopting the USGA local rule governing an alternative form of out of bounds procedures.  

 

PENALTY AREAS: Penalty areas are marked with red stakes/paint. Proceed with Rule 17 if your ball lies in the Penalty Areas. All long/native grass areas on holes 7 and 17 are penalty areas. 

 

POWER LINES: If it is known of virtually certain that a player’s ball hit a power line during play, the stroke does not count. That player must play a ball without penalty from where the previous stroke was taken (see Rule 14.6). 

 

PACE OF PLAY: Play is expected to be 2 hours and 10 minutes per 9 holes. You will be considered out of position if you are not within the time limits above or there is an open hole in front of you. Each player will be penalized 2 strokes until the gap is made up. This is your warning. You are now on the clock.
