Thank you for your entry into the 91st OGA Team Championship, September 29 – 30, 2018, at Black Butte Ranch.  Enclosed you will find the pairings and starting times for both Saturday and Sunday.  Note that this championship will be held over both the Big Meadow and Glaze Meadow courses. Starting times are different each day, so be sure to review the material carefully.  Also, please note that players MAY NOT TRADE starting times with any other contestant (even if they are on the same team).

 

As a reminder, your name was listed on the entry form as the individual to forward all pertinent information to.  This information has not been forwarded to anyone else associated with your team, so we are relying on you to pass this information on to the other players on your team.

Practice Rounds: Each player is eligible for one complimentary practice round on either the Big Meadow Course or the Glaze Meadow Course. Practice rounds can be made on a space available basis by contacting Black Butte Ranch 855-253-2562. Practice rounds are for contestants only and will not be extended to guests, caddies, or family members. Participants must identify themselves as a Team Championship contestant when calling to make arrangements. Players who wish to use their practice round are expected to abide by all resort rules and policies including pace of play. 

 

Format and Prizes: This is a 36-hole stroke play competition.  The low 3 of 4 individual gross scores each day will represent the team’s aggregate score.  Awards will be given on the basis of TEAM GROSS FINISH. There will be NO NET PRIZES.

 

Optional Skins game will be available for $5 per day. Players may register and pay into the separate game on the starting tee each day.

 

Course Yardage: Yardages and Course Ratings are subject to change at any time by the Committee.

Practice Range: Warm up range balls will be made available to contestants prior to each round courtesy of the OGA.

 

Golf Carts: Carts have been reserved based on requests indicated on the entry forms. Cart fee must be paid by the contestant to the Pro Shop at the time of rental. As a reminder, please follow any cart path restrictions posted by Black Butte.

 

Caddies: Black Butte will not have caddies available.  You may bring your own caddie.

 

Spikeless Shoes: It is a condition of this competition that metal or traditionally designed spikes are prohibited.  This includes alternative spikeless products, which are partially comprised of metal, when such metal comes in contact with the turf.  The penalty for breach of this condition is disqualification.

 

Dress Code: Proper attire must be worn at all times.  Proper attire does not include spandex body wear, cutoffs, running shorts, short-shorts, tank tops, tee shirts, or denim of any kind or color, or unkempt clothing of any kind.  Neat and clean pants, slacks, cords, or appropriately hemmed, tailored shorts no more than 6 inches above the knee (men’s shorts must have a minimum of three pockets) are acceptable, as are sweaters and sweatshirts, golf shirts (men’s must have collars).  Shoes must be worn at all times.  Contestants not in compliance with the OGA Dress Code will be Disqualified from the championship and removed from the golf course.

 

Code of Conduct: Contestants are expected to (1) know and play by the Rules of Golf, (2) conduct themselves at all times in a sportsmanlike manner, (3) respect the golf course and the rights of other contestants, (4) fulfill their playing obligations and (5) know and abide by the OGA Pace of Play Policy. If the Committee considers that a player is guilty of a serious breach of etiquette, including but not limited to unsportsmanlike conduct (cheating, damaging the golf course, defacing club property, using loud obscene language, throwing clubs, consuming alcoholic beverages when such consumption: is prohibited by the host facility, is offensive to the contestants fellow competitors and/or causes the contestant’s behavior to become offensive, etc.), it may impose a penalty of DISQUALIFICATION and possible suspension from future play in OGA Championships. Any disciplinary actions imposed on a contestant by the OGA may be formally communicated to a representative of the contestant’s club and/or to any other allied golf association that the OGA deems appropriate.

 

 

OGA Pace of Play Guidelines: will be in effect during the championship.  Pace of play guidelines will be available before each round at the starter’s tent and are also posted on the OGA website at www.oga.org. 

 

Score Posting: will be done by the OGA for each round after the championship has been completed.  The OGA will post each player’s adjusted score to GHIN as a tournament score, for handicapping purposes.

 

If you are forced to make any roster changes prior to the championship, please contact the OGA office at your earliest convenience (503-981-4653) so that we may make the necessary starting time, scoreboard and scorecard adjustments.
