INFORMATION

TOURNAMENT DATE: Monday – Tuesday, August 1-2, 2022. The first round will be tee times off #1 and #10 beginning in the late morning/early afternoon. The second round will be a morning shotgun start.

SECOND-ROUND PAIRINGS: Will be available via www.gam.org and sent to players.

CHAMPIONSHIP YARDAGE: Available @ GAM.org, under Tournaments / GAM Championships / GAM Women’s Four-Ball Championship – Projected Yardage. All yardage is subject to change prior to and during the tournament.

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS SIGNIFICANT CONSTRUCTION IN THE LANSING AREA THAT IMPACTS TRAVEL FROM THE EAST SIDE OF THE STATE. MAKE THE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS TO YOUR ROUTE AND TRAVEL TIME.

GAM DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however, women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players are expected to adhere to the dress code.

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (616) 212-2600. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Women’s Four-Ball Championship contestants. Rates and availability are at the discretion of the host facility. 

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player or caddie uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS, the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

HANDICAP CALCULATION: The Senior Division does include Net Competition. To allow for flighting, handicap indexes will be established on the entry deadline. Per World Handicap System recommendations, all players are receiving 85% of their course handicap for this four-ball stroke play competition.

FOOD:  A lunch will be provided to competitors after play on both days of the tournament.  

CADDIES/CARTS: Automotive transportation is mandatory in this championship. Note: Only Competitors may ride in a cart. Spectators are prohibited from riding in the players’ cart. No caddies allowed in this championship. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  Range will open one hour before the first tee time. 

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden-death playoff immediately after the final scores have been posted.  All other ties will be decided by a method recommended by the USGA.  This method states that we must match cards to determine the winner based on the best score for the last nine holes. It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee for a sudden-death playoff.

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the 1st gross and net teams in senior flights based on the total number entries. The Open Division will only be awarded gross prizes. There must be a minimum of seven (7) teams competing in a Senior flight/division to be eligible for gross and net prizes. The overall Champions’ names will be engraved on the Hiestand–Garety Trophy.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing tournaments@gam.golf. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
