Golfweek and the Midwestern Golf Association partner for The 2022 International Mid-Amateur & Senior, Team and Individual Championship to be held August 4-7 at Caledonia and True Blue on Pawleys Island, SC. The 2022 International will feature a field with teams from The United States, England, Ireland, Wales and Canada.
"The tournament fills a huge vacuum by providing an international team and individual championship for the best Mid-Amateur and Senior golfers in the world," said Eric Hjortness, Executive Director of the Midwestern Golf Association. "We have grown each year and now with the new USA Today Sports / Golfweek partnership we expect to continue this upward trend reaching new heights."

With a player roster that looks like a "who's who" of internationally ranked players, the power ranking is sure to rival the top Mid-Am and Senior tournaments in the world. The International Mid-Amateur & Senior, Team and Individual Championship is a tournament within a tournament. Individual and team champions will be crowned in both the Mid-Am and Senior divisions.
Caledonia and True Blue are two of the Waccamaw Golf Trail masterpieces. Both designed by the legendary Mike Stranz who was more than just a golf course architect, he was a golf course artist. Remnants of the past are visible around Caledonia - an old fish shed here, foundations and chimneys of old houses there, reminders of the the property's former use as a rice plantation and hunting and fishing club before golf arrived. True Blue is another Strantz masterpiece built on the site of a once thriving indigo and rice plantation. Remember, creativity in design requires creativity in your shot making as you make your way around a course that has incorporated salt marshes, wetlands and maritime forest to create one of a kind conditions.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All Golfweek senior amateur tournaments are WAGR counting tournaments leading to exemptions into the 2022 U.S. Senior Amateur at The Kittansett Club in Marion, MA.
Tournament Facts:
Eligibility:
- Mid Amateur Golfers, age 25 and over
- Senior Golfers, age 50 and over
- Handicap Index of 2.0 or lower
Tees:
-Mid Amateur will play approximately 6800-7000 yards
-Senior Division will play approximately 6400-6700 yards
The yardage will be determined by course conditions and might vary from day to day.
Conditions of Play:
USGA Rules of Golf shall be in effect
Tournament Registration $845.00 Includes;
- Three (3) tournament rounds - walking or with cart
- Unlimited Range before and after play
- Two team shirts for each player to be selected by team captain
- Thursday welcome party
- Friday night dinner
- Players luncheon on final day
- Unlimited beer
- Wives Friday activities - Massage, Lunch, Shopping, & Dinner
- NOTE: If you wish to bring a guest to the luncheon thre is a charge of $50 payable at registration.
Practice Rounds: IMPORTANT NOTE - Follow the instructions below and make sure you call in advance!
- Thursday's practice round is a team round / fund raiser with a club member, veteran, or junior, joining the team helping to raise funds for Project Golf and the First Tee of Costal Carolina.
- Monday, August 1 thru Wednesday, August 3 practice rounds are available to all players at a special rate of $90 per round including cart.
- To book your practice round, call the True Blue Golf Shop at 843-235-0900 or the Caledonia Pro-Shop at 843-237-3675 and identify yourself as an International Mid-Amateur & Senior, Team and Individual contestant.
Accommodations: Are not included in your entry fee, however, the HOST HOTEL is The Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort. After acceptance into the field please contact Executive Director Eric Hjortness at 920-378-8989 for instructions regarding booking rooms for your team.

7:30am and 1:30pm Shotgun start - Am - Am Practice Round/fundraiser for Project Golf and The First Tee of Costal Carolina.
6:00pm: True Blue - Welcome pizza and beer party. Contestants and wives are encouraged to attend.
Friday, August 5
Round 1 - 7:30am - off of No.1 & No.10
Mid-Am on True Blue in threesomes
Seniors on Caledonia in threesomes
Post round Putting Contest - at True Blue. Proceeds split between First Tee of Costal Carolina, Project Golf and the contest winner.
Evening: Pawley's Plantation Golf Club
6:00pm Welcome and Happy Hour
6:45pm Dinner and program featuring Vince Allocco, Assistant Manager of Championships and WAGR, from the USGA. Presenting, "Demystifying the World Amateur Golf Rankings." The program will feature a brief Q&A along with a glimpse into the future.

Afternoon and evening - On your own. (1 mile to the ocean)

Awards presentation immediately follow the completion of each division.

Deadline to register: June 30, 2022 or until field is full
Prior to June 1, 2022: 100% refund minus $100 cancellation fee
June 2-13, 2022: 50% refund
After June 13, 2022: No Refund (No Exceptions)
Note: All cancellations/withdrawals from the tournament must go through Ron Gaines, rgaines@golfweek.com in order to recieve a refund (if applicable). Do not withdraw yourself using the GolfGenius application as you are cleared from the tournament with no way to refund and we are not notified that you have withdrawn. Thank you.
