North Atlanta Senior Men's Golf Assn
Latest News 6/29
Overview: Founded in 1982, we are a like-minded group of senior men's golfers (over 50) who organize events each month at various member clubs.
Affiliated Clubs: Atlanta National, Berkeley Hills, Big Canoe, Bridgemill, Brookfield, CC of Roswell, Iron Horse, Eagle Watch, Fairways of Canton, Indian Hills, Laurel Springs, Olde Atlanta, Polo, Rivermont, White Columns, Windermere, and Woodmont.
Events: NASMGA hosts one golf event per month at one of our affiliated clubs from March through October, and occasionally a Play Day at non-affiliated clubs. The typical event is an ABCD team format with live scoring and full Golf Genius support.
Matchplay: Each member club competes as a team. These club teams are organized randomly into three “pods” at the beginning of the season. Within each pod, there will be six rounds of home and away matches throughout the spring and summer. Eight top teams across the three pods then advance to the championship and consolation bracket matches in the fall to determine the overall standings. Overall, more than 1300 individual rounds are played during the season to crown a champion.
Our next NASMGA event is a two man team event at Atlanta National Golf Club, Monday, July 15th. Sign up opens tomorrow at noon and remains open until Thursday, July 10th, with reminders along the way. Here's a description of the event format:
Format: 2-man best net, pick your partner (10 stroke differential), flighted
- Scoring to be done in Golf Genius
- Signup as a two-man team (one person signs up and pays for your partner) - you must sign up and pay for your partner
- Single signups will be available (all efforts will be made to pair partners without losing strokes to comply with the 10-stroke differential)
- You may request to be paired with another 2-man team by using the box in registrations under "Foursome Pairing Request (DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR TEAMMATE)"
- 2-man teams will be flighted
- 2-man teams cannot be more than 10 strokes difference in playing handicap (the higher handicap strokes will be reduced to meet requirement)
- Field size is set at 108
For full event details and signup link, click here: NASMGA Signups and then on Atlanta National in the Event Directory. When signups open at noon, a registration box will show in the upper portion of the event home page. Most information is prefilled for you, but don’t forget to click the radio button next to your tee choice. Your registration may be edited at any time up to the close of signups, after which, no further changes are allowed.
The NEW NASMGA Pace of Play policy will be in effect at all NASMGA events. Read this short version of the policy or go to the home page and click on the POP tab at the top of the page for a couple of summary documents regarding pace of play. Please be aware that we will be using marshals at this event to monitor the pace of individual groups. These marshals are board members who are not playing but, instead, are volunteering their play time to making sure that all participants have the most fun by insuring that we enjoy a fast, fun and fair round.
NASMGA will continue to use "first come, first served" for determining entry into all event rosters. Sign up early to secure your spot in each event. When you sign up, have your credit card available as the entry fee payment is due at the time of signup. Note also that our credit card processor has a new feature called Link. If you have previously completed a purchase with Link, your credit card information will be pre-filled and you will receive a text message with a second level authorization code. If you don’t want to use Link, you will also see an option to use a different form of payment. As always, if you cancel your entry prior to the signup closing, you will receive a full refund of the entry fee. If you cancel after signup closes, no refund is available, and please notify the Tournament Chairman listed at the top of the event home page. DO NOT notify the pro shop at the club, as the TC is running the event. If you have trouble signing up or canceling your signup, please just reply to this email.
If you have questions, suggestions, or comments about this or future NASMGA Events, please reply to this email and we’ll get back to you promptly.
