2022 LPGA Amateurs All-Ontario Team Match Play Open

August 6 & 7, 2022

Event Format

This is a 4-person team event in Match Play format, with even more "team" play introduced this year.  Both days will feature four-ball matches only (no more singles matches), so you are always playing with a teammate!  Come enjoy the fun and be sure to stay at the end for the awards, photos, and socializing at the player reception.

Each player will play two matches, each played with a partner, for a total of 4 matches per team over the competition.  Each match will earn match points for the match outcome (win, tie, or loss) plus the number of holes won.

Awards:

  • The 2022 Ontario Team Match Play Champions will be the team with the highest total number of match points from the field.
  • Awards to the top three teams based on match points.
  • The Canada Cup will be awarded to the winning Chapter during the reception at the end of this event.

Participation in and volunteering at this event earns chapter points for the Canada Cup!

Pairing & Handicap Information

Each team will compete as two 'sides' on each day of competition.  The sides will be assigned as follows:

  • Players on each team will be labelled Player A, B, C, & D in order of lowest to highest handicap as of the handicap cutoff date
  • On Saturday,
    • Player A + Player B will form a side who will compete against a side from another team.
    • Player C + Player D will form a side who will compete against a side from another team.
  • On Sunday,
    • Player A + Player C will form a side who will compete against a side from another team.
    • Player B + Player D will form a side who will compete against a side from another team.

Team / Handicap requirements:

  • Each player must have a valid handicap by the handicap cutoff date and have posted at least 54-holes in the current calendar year.
  • The team can be composed of players with any valid handicap index.  For anyone familiar with terms of the association-wide Cup Series events, this event does not have any requirements for the combination of handicaps for team members or pairings (i.e. "6-stroke spread" for four-ball partners does not apply).
  • Teams can be composed of players from any Chapter.
  • Please review the Match Play Open Terms of the Competition document (under Player Documents) for complete details.
