Entry Fee

The entry fee is $350 and includes two rounds with golf, cart, access to the club's range, an exclusive tee gift and awards.

 

Eligibility

This championship is open to teams consisting of two male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

• Membership: Entrants must be members of the NYSGA, defined as (1) belonging to an NYSGA member club or (2) by joining the NYSGA directly as an eClub member.
• Age: To compete in the senior division, both members of a team must be 55 years old as of May 20, 2018. There are no age restrictions in the amateur division.
• USGA Handicap Index: Entrants must have an active USGA Handicap Index.

 

Field Size and Wait List

The field will consist of 26 teams in both division (104 players total). If more than 26 teams register for either division, the division will consist of the 26 teams with the lowest combined Handicap Index as of the May 1st revision. The remaining teams will be placed on the waitlist, ordered by their combined Handicap Index. Any team that is placed on the waitlist will be issued a full refund and will not be charged until they regain a position in the field.

 

Note: In 2017, teams with a combined USGA Handicap Index of 5.5 (Amateur Division) and 10.0 (Senior Amateur Division) secured a spot in the field at the time of the entry deadline. Many teams that were waitlisted ultimately gained a spot in the field as several registered teams withdraw prior to the start of the championship.

 

Format

36 holes of four-ball stroke play.

 

Rules

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The NYSGA will have volunteer Rules Officials on the course to provide rulings and answer questions.

     11:00am - 12:35pm................Contestant registration (beneath the NYSGA tent at the pro shop)

     1:00pm....................................Round 1 - 18 holes, four-ball stroke play (shotgun start)

     6:30pm-7:30pm......................Player reception (cash bar)

     7:00pm....................................Player dinner at the Otesga Resort Hotel

     9:00am....................................Round 2 - 18 holes, four-ball stroke play (shotgun start)

Practice Rounds
A practice round is available on Saturday, May 19 for $50.

 

Awards

Trophies will be awarded to the winners in each championship division.

 

Exemptions

The winners of the NYS Men's Amateur Four-Ball Championship will be exempt from qualifying for the 2018 NYS Men's Amateur Championship (Irondequoit CC) and the 2018 NYS Men's Mid-Amateur Championship (Wanakah CC).

Refund Policy

The entry fee will be refunded if a team withdraws prior to the close of entries, less a $10 service fee.
