2018 WPGA Open Championship Qualifying Round

This notice serves as confirmation for West Penn Open Qualifying on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Grove City Country Club. Qualifying is 18 holes with a field of 65 Players. The field will be playing for nine (9) spots and three (3) alternates. Additional information will be distributed on the first tee.

 

Format: 18 holes of stroke play with a field of 65 players. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed prior to play. In the event of a tie for the final qualifying spot or any alternate, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes determined by the committee.

 

Practice: Practice rounds can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 724-748-4912. The PGA Golf Professional is David Altemus. Practice rounds are available at the discretion of the golf shop. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice rounds will be at a cost of $48 for walking and cart fees an additional $20 if you so choose.

 

Tee Markers: All play is from the WPGA tee markers (Approximately 6,600 Yards). Yardages will be contingent on course conditions.

 

Transportation/Caddies: Automotive transportation is permitted for the qualifier and is included in the entry fee. Two carts will be permitted for threesomes and one cart per twosome. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties. Grove City does not offer caddies. Push Carts are permitted for the competition.

 

Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Grove City, PA area. You may also create an account with Affinity Travel Benefits here and find lodging close to the tournament site on the Association Tournaments tab.

 

Food: The WPGA provides water on course, coffee & juices prior to the competition and lunch will be provided after the competition. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

 

Footwear: METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

 

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and thirty minutes (4:30). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

 

Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines. ADA carts are based on availability. Spectators may purchase lunches at their own expense. Directions to the club can be found on the Grove City Country Club  website.
