59th Western Pennsylvania Boys Championship

This notice serves as confirmation for the 59th Western Pennsylvania Boys Championship on Monday, June 25th at Lindenwood Golf Club in Canonsburg, PA.  The Championship will be played on the RED and BLUE Nines.

 

The competition is 18 holes. Please note the attached starting times and pairings.  Starting tee will be hole #1.  Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee.

 

Winner of Potts Division (Ages 14 & 15) receives invitation to C.R. Miller Memorial Junior Match Play Invitational.

 

Note to Parents & Guardians A parent, stepparent, or guardian may not serve as a caddie.  Spectator carts are not permitted for use during the championship. 
 

Format—18 Holes of Stroke Play. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee in each division.

 

Tee Markers
The Championship will be played on the RED and BLUE Nine’s.

Age 14 & 15 Age Division – BLUE WPGA tee markers (Approximate Yardage 6,200)

Age 11-13 Age Division – WHITE WPGA tee markers (Approximate Yardage 5,850)
Age 8-10 Age Division – RED tee markers (Approximate Yardage for the nine holes 2,480)

 

Practice—Practice rounds are available by contacting the golf shop at (724) 745-9889, the Golf Professional is Brent JohnsonPractice rounds must be pre-arranged and are available at the discretion of the golf shop.  Practice Rounds will be at a cost of $24.  The practice round rate applies only to the contestant.  Non-contestants who accompany the competitor are subject to the club’s prevailing rate.

 

Transportation/Caddies—Players and caddies are required to walk for the championship.  Players may bring their own caddies if they choose.  Caddies must walk in performance of their duties.  A parent, stepparent, or guardian may not serve as a caddie.

 

Pace of Play—The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:15).

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. 

 

Evacuation Plan— In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should seek the nearest shelter or building until the Committee can transport the players to the clubhouse.

 

Footwear—METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED--PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

 

Food—The WPGA provides lunch for players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. Lunch will be available by cash or credit card for those accompanying the players and caddies.

 

Lodging—Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Canonsburg area.
