Wildhawk Players Association (WPA) Player of the Year (POY) program

The POY program will include tournaments from January through the Club Championship.

Player with the highest POY points earned after the Club Championship will win POY.

Points are earned by order of finish in each flight. In addition, the overall points winners of the Summer Series will be awarded points using the Major Event award chart.

In team events, both players on the same team get the same points according to order of finish in each flight.

Tournaments identified as ‘majors’ will award double points.

In the Match Play Championship, points are awarded for each flight/bracket. The 2 finalists in each bracket will earn points for 1st and 2nd. The 2 non-winning players in the final 4 will earn 100 points each. Players not reaching the final 4 will earn 20 points each.

Regular Tournament Ties: For finishes where 2 or more players tie, points for each place will be added and divided by the number of players.

Example 1: 2 people tied for 2nd: add 2nd and 3rd place points then divide by 2 Places below 5th will be treated as 5th for awarding points.

Example 2: 3 people tie for 4th: add 4th, 5th, and another 5th and divide by 3. When multiple players tie, the number of players determines the number of placings for awarding points and points are not awarded for exhausted placings.

Example 3: 3 people tie for 2nd. Add 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place points and divide by 3. Next player in order of finish earns points for 5th.
