U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship Sectional Qualifier – Chateau Elan Golf Club (Chateau Course)

FORMAT &

QUALIFYING PLACES

18 holes of individual stroke play for seven 7 qualifying spots and two (2) alternate spots in the 2018 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship to be played August 6-12 at The Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, TN.

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Players may play practice rounds after the close of entries starting June 22. Players must call Chateau Elan Golf Club at 678-425-6050 to make arrangements for a starting time.  Players are entitled to one practice round for $30 plus tax and includes cart and practice balls.  The practice round fee must be paid regardless of whether the player walks or uses the cart.  Practice rounds are for players only.  Cash and credit cards will be accepted.

CARTS

Practice cart and range fees are $30 plus tax. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. During the qualifying round, a caddie may transport a player’s bag on a cart for a fee of $30 plus tax.  Spectator carts are strictly prohibited in all instances.

YARDAGES & TEES

A combination of tee markers and yardages from the club scorecard will primarily be utilized for the qualifying round. A yardage sheet will be available on-site and also through a link/download on the event portal. Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.

GOLF SHOP &

DRIVING RANGE:

The golf shop and driving range will open by 6:30 a.m. the morning of qualifying.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the USGA/GSGA and will be posted at the club the day before the qualifying round. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times through this event portal.

REGISTRATION

NO formal registration will be held on site.  Players should arrive to their assigned starting tee ten minutes before their starting time to allow for the starter to go over instructions and rules of play. Player withdraws must be called in to the GSGA office at (678) 324-5969 or e-mailed to jfages@gsga.org

CADDIES

Players may provide their own caddies.

PREFERRED LIES

Per the USGA, for all USGA Championships and qualifying rounds, the following policy is in effect: A Local Rule authorizing “Preferred Lies” or “Winter Rules” is NEVER permitted.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

In Sectional Qualifying stages and the Championship proper, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge decides whether this requirement has been met, and has the authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply.

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE

Clubhouse and locker room areas will open at 6:30 a.m. Cash and credit cards will be accepted for food and beverage purchases in clubhouse.

PRIZES

Lowest score will receive a silver medal; if a tie, duplicate medals will be awarded.
