U.S. Amateur Qualifier #1 – Jennings Mill CC

FIELD

113 players

FORMAT &

QUALIFYING PLACES

Qualifying places and alternate positions will be announced on the qualifying dates.  All 113 contestants will play the first 18-hole round scheduled for Monday, July 16.  Upon its completion, the field will be cut for the second round scheduled for Tuesday, July 18, to the low 30% of the field and ties, and anyone within 8 strokes of the last qualifying score.  Those that advance will compete for the 2018 U.S. Amateur Championship to be played August 13-19 at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California.

PRACTICE ROUNDS

One practice round per player and practice rounds are for players only. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below. Please call Jennings Mill Country Club to reserve your practice round starting time. Practice round cart and range fee is $30 plus tax and must be paid regardless of whether or not the player chooses to walk or ride. Cash and Credit Cards will be accepted as methods of payment in the golf shop.

 

  • Mondays after 1:00 pm
  • Tuesdays-Thursdays, anytime based on availability
  • Fridays-Sunday after 2:00 pm, based on availability

CARTS

Practice cart and range fees are $30 plus tax. Only cash is accepted. During the qualifying round, a caddie may transport a player’s bag on a cart for a fee of $25 plus tax.  Spectator carts are strictly prohibited in all instances.

YARDAGES & TEES

The Championship yardages from the club scorecard will primarily be utilized for the qualifying round. Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.

GOLF SHOP &

DRIVING RANGE:

The golf shop and driving range will open by 7:00 a.m. the morning of qualifying.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the USGA/GSGA and will be posted at the club the day before the qualifying round. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairings information and starting times after June 27. 

REGISTRATION

NO formal registration will be held on site.  Players should arrive to their assigned starting tee ten minutes before their starting time to allow for the starter to go over instructions and rules of play. Player withdrawals must be called in to the GSGA office at (678) 324-5974.

CADDIES

Players may provide their own caddie. 

RULES OF PLAY & PACE OF PLAY

POLICIES

The USGA Rules of Play and GSGA Pace of Play Policies shall be in effect. Click here to view policiesPlease note that the use of pull carts is prohibited during the practice round and qualifying rounds.

PREFERRED LIES

Per the USGA, for all USGA Championships and qualifying rounds, the following policy is in effect: A Local Rule authorizing “Preferred Lies” or “Winter Rules” is NEVER permitted.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

In Qualifying stages and the Championship proper, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge decides whether this requirement has been met, and has the authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply.

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE

Clubhouse and locker room areas will open at 7:00 a.m. Cash and credit cards will be accepted for food and beverage purchases in the clubhouse and on the golf course.

PRIZES

  • A silver medal will be presented to the low scorer at the conclusion of the qualifying rounds.
