U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship - Qualifying Round, October 8, 2018

FIELD

102 players (51 teams)

FORMAT &

QUALIFYING PLACES

18 holes of four-ball stroke play for 2 qualifying spots and two alternate spots to advance to the 2019 USGA Men’s Four-Ball Championship to be played May 25-29, 2019 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, OR.

PRACTICE ROUNDS

One practice round per player and practice rounds are for players only. Practice rounds will be available on the designated dates and times below after September 18. Please contact Berkeley Hills Country Club to reserve your practice round starting time. Practice round cart and range fee is $25 plus tax and must be paid regardless of whether or not the player chooses to walk or ride.  Cash and credit cards will be the accepted method of payment in the golf shop.

  • Tuesday-Thursday, anytime based on availability.
  • Saturday, after 1:00 p.m., based on availability.
  • Sunday, October 1 after 1:00 p.m., based on availability for out of town players only.

CARTS

Practice cart and range fees are $25 plus tax. During the qualifying round, a caddie may transport a player’s bag on a cart for a fee of $25 plus tax. Spectator carts are strictly prohibited in all instances. Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorized by the Committee.

YARDAGES & TEES

Championship tees will be used for this qualifying round. Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.

GOLF SHOP &

DRIVING RANGE:

The golf shop and driving range will open by 7:00 a.m. the morning of qualifying.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the USGA/GSGA and will be posted at the club the day before the qualifying round. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairings information. The first starting times will be 8:00 off #1 and #10 tees. 

REGISTRATION

NO formal registration will be held on site.  Players should arrive to their assigned starting tee ten minutes before their starting time to allow for the starter to go over instructions and rules of play. Player withdraws must be called in to the GSGA office at (770) 955-4272.

CADDIES

No caddies are available at Berkeley Hills CC. The player is solely responsible for making arrangements for a caddie.

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY

The USGA Rules of Play and GSGA Pace of Play Policies shall be in effect. Click here to view policies.

PREFERRED LIES

Per the USGA, for all USGA Championships and qualifying rounds, the following policy is in effect: A Local Rule authorizing “Preferred Lies” or “Winter Rules” is NEVER permitted.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

In Sectional Qualifying stages and the Championship proper, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge decides whether this requirement has been met, and has the authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply.

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE

Lunch and beverages will be available at the Turn Grill after 9:00 a.m.. Cash only will be accepted for F & B purchases.

PRIZES

A Silver medal will be presented to the low scorer at the conclusion of the qualifying round.
