It is with great honor that I get to welcome you to the 2023 Member Guest Invitational here at the historic Janesville Country Club. This event is the best that our club has to offer. Our Superintendent, Joe McLaughlin, and his team have our golf course in phenomenal shape. General Manager, Jayme Braatz, and Chef Brad Bandt have a fantastic menu planned over the next two days. Our Professional staff has a great golf tournament planned for all of you. I hope you can enjoy the best of everything our club offers throughout this event.

History of Janesville Country Club

The Janesville Country Club is a club with great significance in the landscape of Wisconsin Golf. Initially founded by Alexander Galbraith in 1894 as the Sinnissippi Golf Club, the club has paved the way for private golf in Wisconsin. Below are the unique distinctions our club holds:

 

  • Oldest Private Club in Wisconsin
  • 2nd oldest private club in the Midwest Region (2nd to Chicago Golf Club)
  • One of 9 founding Members of the Wisconsin State Golf Association
  • Host of the 1st Wisconsin State Amateur (Hosted 6 total)
  • One of 25 founding members of the Western Golf Association

Event Information

 

Format: Practice Round- Teams can play in our practice round on Wednesday, July 19. The design for our practice round event is One Net Best Ball of the twosome. Optional $100 

 

Main Event: The Invitational format is 3, 9 hole fourball matches. You and your partner are playing one net best ball in three matches against your flight's teams.

Cost/Team: $500 per team includes the following:

  • Steak Dinner on Wednesday Night 
  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Walking Apps on Invitational Day
  • Prizes for Practice Round and Invitational Win, Place, and Show
  • Cart fees for the entire event (Practice Round, Matches, and Shootout)
  • $100 Shot Credit for Guests
