2018 IGA Senior Men’s Tournament of Champions

ELIGIBILITY: Entries are open to amateur golfers who have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index®. A Handicap Index must be issued from an IGA District I, II, or III member “golf club” (as defined in the “USGA Handicap System Manual”) which is licensed to use the USGA Handicap SystemTM. Or, for bona fide residents of the State of Idaho, Panhandle District, have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index® issued from a WSGA licensed member “golf club.”
All applications will be reviewed by the IGA to verify that each entrant has an official USGA Handicap Index® from a IGA member club or course.
Players must be 55 years of age, on or before, the first round of competition.
Any amateur whose name does not appear on the IGA’s handicap roster will be ineligible and their entry application and entry fee will be returned.
Tournament of Champions is invitation only.
ENTRY DEADLINE: All players must file an application by the entry deadline - Wednesday, October 3, 2018 5:00 p.m. MST to be eligible to compete in the Championship. Incomplete applications are not accepted. Entrants are urged to submit applications well in advance of the entry deadline. THE IGA WILL NOT ACCEPT LATE ENTRY APPLICATIONS. FAXED APPLICATIONS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
ACCEPTANCE OF PLACES/ NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL: A player who must withdraw before the championship must notify the IGA office (208) 342-4442 or the Official in Charge at the site of the event. If a player must withdraw during an event, he must notify the Official in Charge. If a player does not show for an event or fails to follow the above procedure, their actions may result in a one-year suspension from all IGA competitions. Said player forfeits all entry fees.
REFUNDS: No refunds for any reason (except for illness or injury) will be issued after 5:00 p.m. MST on the evening before the first round of the respective competition. Requests for a refund due to illness or injury will be treated on a case by case basis and can include illness or injury of a spouse or child. All refunds will be subject to a $25.00 withdrawal fee.
CANCELLATION/EXTENSION OF PLAY
If a lengthy suspension of play occurs during the final round or is likely to affect the final round, the IGA will discuss options with the host facility on the cancellation of the final round and/ or shortening of the championship. For a match play formatted event, the original match play bracket will be completed. This may require the completion of a match play round(s) the day after the planned conclusion of the event. The IGA will discuss all of these options with the host club’s staff.
PRIZES AND MEDALISTS:
CHAMPION — IGA Championship Trophy
Entry Fees are $250 per Player (Plus 2% credit card processing fee of $5.00)
Entry fee includes: 2% processing fee, player gift, practice round, two competition rounds (minimum), and lunch after each competitive round.
Friday, October 12: Practice Round, 18 holes
Saturday, October 13: First Round, 18 holes
Sunday, October 14: Second Round, 18 holes
RULES OF GOLF: Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf. All questions shall be settled by the Committee in charge of the competition, whose decision is final.
Caddies are permitted for this Championship and are permitted to ride in a cart with the player.
CONDUCT CODE: Penalties for breach of sportsmanship code (to include but not limited to property damage, abusive language, club throwing, excessive drinking or gambling) may include censure, suspension or revocation of playing privilege.
IGA DRESS CODE: Contestants must abide by the IGA dress code during practice and championship rounds, no blue jeans.
Penalty for breach of IGA dress code - may be expelled from the Championship and/or suspended from future IGA championships.
FOOTWEAR: Traditional type spikes, such as metal, are prohibited at all practice rounds and at the championship rounds. Penalty for breach of this condition of play is disqualification.
