COMPETITION

Mid-Amateur Championship

ELIGIBILITY

Open to male amateur golfers age 25 or older as of May 18, 2018.

FIELD

144 players

FORMAT

54 holes of individual stroke play. After 36 holes of play, the field will be cut to the low 70 scores and ties.

CHAMPIONSHIP FEE

Player’s advancing to the Championship through qualifying will be responsible for a $125.00 Championship fee.  This fee will be charged to the player upon being transferred to the Championship proper in the online registration system after your qualifying round has concluded.  Exempt players have no additional championship fees aside from the practice round.

PRACTICE ROUNDS

One practice round per player.  When applicable, practice yardage sheets will be provided to the host club to distribute to players.  Players will pay the $30 cart and range fee for their practice round. Cash ONLY is the accepted method of payment.  Practice rounds will be available two weeks prior to the competition on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, after 2:30 pm, on a space available basis, and anytime on Thursday, May 17. Players must call Piedmont Driving Club to make arrangements for a practice round at 404.346.4174.

YARDAGES & TEES

The GSGA tee markers will be utilized for the competition rounds.  Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.

GOLF SHOP &

DRIVING RANGE:

The golf shop and driving range will open at 6:30 a.m. 

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on May 11. 

REGISTRATION

NO formal registration will be held on site.  Players should arrive to their assigned starting tee ten minutes before their starting time to allow for the starter to go over instructions and rules of play. Player withdraws must be called in or e-mailed to the GSGA office or e-mailed to the Rules & Competitions Department.

CARTS

Practice round cart and range fee is $30 plus tax. Cash ONLY will be accepted for payment. Tournament round cart and range fees are included in the entry fee.

CADDIES

Caddies are available at Piedmont Driving Club. Players who wish to use a club caddie, must call the Caddie Master, Nick Dooley, at 404.346.1784.  Players may provide their own caddie. Pull carts are NOT allowed. 

PLAYER HOSPITALITY

The GSGA cordially invites all players to a luncheon in their honor on Friday, May 18 from 11:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.

FOOD SERVICE

Food service will be available to players beginning at 7:00 a.m. each day. Cash ONLY will be accepted for payment.

PRIZES

Gift certificates will be awarded to the low 25 finishers.

REFUND POLICY

A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled. Withdraws after the close of entries must be made by notifying the GSGA Rules and Competitions Department at (770) 955-4272 or via e-mail.
