Eligibility
There are three divisions in the Bubby Worsham -
Dewey Ricketts 14-15 - Any boy who has reached his 14th birthday but not his 16th by Aug 1.
Dewey Ricketts 16-18 - Any young man who has reached his 16th birthday but not his 19th by Aug 1.
Young Amateurs 19-24 - Any young man who has reached his 19th birthday and not his 25th by Aug 1.
Entry Fee
$125.00 per player. Field is limited to the first 114 entries. Entries in excess of 114 will be waitlisted. Post entries accepted subject to availability of spots. Call 410-991-7843. The Committee reserves the right to reject any entry.
Entry Open/Close
Entries open Wednesday, March 15 at 9:00 AM and close Monday, July 24 at 6:00 PM. Refunds: If a player withdraws by the close of entries - refund is subject to a $25.00 admin fee. If a player withdraws after that date and time, no refund will be given.
Format
36 holes of Stroke Play for all age divisions. The Over-All Low Scorer after 36 holes will be the Bubby Worsham Champion.
Players in the Ricketts 16-18 and Young Amateur Divisions will play from the Championship Tees - 6,861 yds.
Players in the Ricketts 14-15 Division will play from a combination of the Black and Gold Tees - app. 6,400 yds.
Caddies/carts and pull/push carts are not permitted
Rules of Golf
Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and the R & A. The competition is final when the trophy has been presented to the winner or, in the absence of a prize ceremony, when all scores have been approved by the Committee.

Prizes
The overall low scorer, from any division, is the Worsham Champion and will have his name engraved on the Bubby Worsham Memorial Plaque and on the Del Web Trophy, a sterling silver bowl. Arnold Palmer won this event in 1951 and his name is engraved on that bowl. The Worsham Champion as well as the winner of the Young Amateur Division and the winner, runner-up, and third place finisher in the Ricketts Divisions will receive a trophy award. Gift certificates will be awarded to the top finishers in the overall Worsham contest.

Starting times will be e-mailed to all contestants and posted on the event portal shortly after close of entries.
Practice
Practice rounds are not available.

If the entering player is under the age of 18, the players' parent or guardian must submit this entry on behalf of the player, and the parent or guardian agrees that he or she is executing the Participation and Liability Release Agreement on behalf of the player and is authorizing the player to participate in the Bubby Worsham Memorial on all the terms described.
PARTICIPATION AND LIABILITY RELEASE AGREEMENT FOR THE
2023 WMGA BUBBY WORSHAM MEMORIAL
In consideration of my entry into and permission to participate in the Bubby Worsham Memorial being conducted by the Washington Metropolitan Golf Associations, I voluntarily agree to each of the following:
Assumption of Risks and Responsibility. I acknowledge that participating in the Bubby Worsham Memorial involves risks and dangers of personal injury, illness, loss or damage of many kinds, including without limitation those arising from or relating to a virus or disease, such as the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus that causes COVID-19 (“COVID-19 virus and any of a multitude of variants”); heat stroke or other health-related risks; lightning strike; golf cart or automobile accident or other types of accidents; being struck by a ball, club, or other object; snake or other animal bites or injuries; or sports injury (collectively, “Event Injuries”).
I voluntarily assume all risks relating to and accept sole responsibility for any and all such Event Injuries that I may incur in connection with my participation in the Bubby Worsham Memorial.
Release of Claims, Covenant Not to Sue and Indemnification. I hereby release the Washington Metropolitan Golf Association (WMGA) and the Bethesda CC and all their respective employees, volunteers, officers, directors, agents and representatives (collectively, the “Released Persons”), of and from any and all claims, liabilities, actions, damages, costs or expenses arising out of or relating to Event Injuries or my participation in the Bubby Worsham Memorial whether resulting from negligence or otherwise (collectively, “Released Claims”).
I agree not to sue the Released Persons for such Released Claims. I agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Released Persons in connection with such Released Claims, including without limitation for any attorney’s fees or expenses they incur in enforcing this Agreement.
Agreement Relating to COVID-19 Virus. Without limiting the foregoing, I acknowledge the contagious and harmful nature of the COVID-19 virus and its variants and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by this virus by participating in the Bubby Worsham Memorial.
I also certify that, to my knowledge, I am not now infected with the COVID-19 virus, am not experiencing symptoms that may be associated with this virus, and in the past 14 days have not been in close contact with anyone infected with this virus. I agree that this certification remains in effect from my entry until the end of my participation in the Bubby Worsham Memorial, and I will inform the WMGA immediately if any part of these certifications ceases to be true during this time.
Agreement to Follow Rules, Policies and Procedures. I acknowledge that the WMGA may implement and enforce rules, policies and procedures in connection with the Bubby Worsham Memorial, including without limitation to ensure appropriate conduct by participants and to implement and comply with public health and safety requirements, guidelines and/or recommendations, whether relating to the COVID-19 virus or otherwise (collectively, “Event Rules”).
I agree to comply with all such Event Rules. I also agree that if I fail to comply with any Event Rules or commit any misconduct, or if my participation might pose any health risk to others, all as determined by WMGA in its sole discretion, the WMGA may refuse to allow me to participate in the Bubby Worsham Memorial, without any refund to me or any liability to the WMGA.
Severability and Waiver. If any provision of the Agreement is found unenforceable in whole or in part, the rest of the Agreement shall remain fully enforceable. A failure by the WMGA to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
Agreement for Minors. If the participant is a minor child under age 18, this Agreement must be executed on his or her behalf by a parent or guardian. In doing so, the parent or guardian agrees that all provisions of this Agreement apply to all of the minor’s parents or guardians.
By submitting this registration, I have executed this Participation and Liability Release Agreement and agreed to all of its terms and condition. If under 18, registration must be submitted by parent or guardian
